12 Kits Of Occasions {February 2014}

Friday, February 28, 2014

Good Morning!
This month's kit was put together for us by Renee.
Her kit included so much sparkle and shine for making snow themed cards.
Her kit also included wonderful vintage style paper designs which I haven't even touched yet.
I'm looking forward to hopping around and seeing how everyone else has put them to use and storing away some ideas.  Although I love it, patterned paper is not so easy for me to use.

Here is a look at all that was included in Renee's kit.
Isn't that snowman paper awesome?

For my first card, I couldn't resist using all of those gorgeous glittered snowflakes all at once.
They make such a statement.  The background is spritzed with Heidi Swapp Tinsel Color Shine and dotted with gems and sequins.
I did use a spray fixative on the color shine to protect it from smearing.

This next card is my ode to The Florida Snowman....melted!
Growing up in FL we would always see little souvenirs in shops of the Florida Snowman.
A little snow globe with a beach scene and floating in the water
were the snowman's arms, nose, buttons, and eyes.
Have you ever seen one?

Renee sent a piece of this beautiful glitter paper.
The texture is smooth and easy to die cut.
Best of all, none of the glitter comes off!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
We have another guest designer this month, Judy Marino!

Friday Inspiration File #157

Thursday, February 27, 2014

Hi!
I can't believe it's been a whole week since I've posted anything.
I attribute it to being so cold.
All I want to do after work lately is curl up with my electric blanket and hibernate.
I wanted to post my Friday Inspiration File early because tomorrow I have a special post for you,
The 12 Kits Of Occasions February post is ready to go. I have received a few new products this week
so you'll see those pop up in my projects soon!
See you tomorrow!

Friday Inspiration File #156

Friday, February 21, 2014

Hello and Happy Friday!
We've had a bit f a warm up at the end of the week and I couldn't be happier.
It's still barely reached 50 degrees, but I'll take it.
We even saw the sun yesterday!

We have begun work on one of the bathrooms upstairs.  Finally, after almost 9 years of living in this house, we are getting rid of the 1960's powder blue tile.  The room has been totally gutted and we are starting from scratch.
Our master bath is very small, just a shower, toilet, and sink.
In the end we hope to have something like this:

I love the subway tile and the octagons on the floor.
And when this one's done, it's on to the guest bath.
That one currently has pink sinks and a pink tub!

Happily Ever After

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Hello!
Time for a little color after yesterday's neutrals.

I created this stamped piece,
but while trimming it down to size I decided I like the thin strips better than the whole sheet.
In the photo below you can probably better see the velveteen technique than you can on the strips.

A friend of mine at work got engaged over the
Valentine's Day holiday weekend.
So excited for her!

Masculine Thanks

Monday, February 17, 2014

Good Morning!
Today I have a few masculine 'Thank You' cards.
From time to time my husband needs to send a 'Thank You' and as much as he loves my other cards ;)  I doubt he wants to send a card with ribbons and flowers.
I stamped a few cards and envelopes for him to use when he needs them.

I stamped a full 81/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock and was able to create all 3 cards.

Have a great day!

ROY*G*BIV {Birthday}

Sunday, February 16, 2014

Good Morning!
I created this pattern using the chevron stamp from Paper Smooches Design Motifs.
The stamp set includes a small and large stamp in this shape.
This is the larger of the two.

I stamped it in many other color combinations, as you can see below.

This card is for my nephew who is turning 18 next week!
I can't believe he will be graduating from high school this year.
That makes me feel old.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Candy Colored Valentines

Friday, February 14, 2014

I just couldn't stop!
So many fun pattern possibilities.
I threw in an image from Wplus9's Quilt Prints
to create a unique pattern using the circle from the Paper Smooches set.

I used only 3 colors, but stamped each twice to get variations of the same color.
I used a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to re-stamp certain areas with Versamark and then emboss with gold.

Below are a few more that haven't made their way onto cards yet.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Wishing you all lots of love this Valentine's Day and Always!

Cardstock: PTI White, Kraft
Stamps: WP9 Love You More, Quilt Prints, PS Design Motifs
Ink: PTI Harvest Gold, Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, Versamark
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Stamp-a-ma-jig

Heart Shaped {Brownies}

Friday, February 14, 2014

I made some brownies for Ryan's lunch.
I thought it would be fun to cut them into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
I used Bob's Red Mill Gluten-Free Brownie Mix so they were even quicker and easier to throw together last night without him noticing!

Happy Valentine's Day!
