A Clearly Besotted Christmas {Tree}

 

I made this card for the Clearly Besotted Christmas Challenge, but I don't have any of their Christmas stamps. I decided to create a tree by cutting some cardstock at angles and removing the center piece.  I layered those cut pieces over Clearly Besotted stars stamped in Christmas colors.

Feathered Leaf

To create the texture on the leaf I stamped a feather into several different ink colors before stamping on the die cut leaf.  I added a little color to the edges, with brown ink, using my daubers. The sentiment was selectively inked to create two lines of text rather than one.

The Broad {Wing} Of Time

 

Hello...

Finally had the time and energy {at the same time} to get into my craft room today!

I figured, why not make a mess?

I wasn't sure what I was going to end up with, but I started out by spritzing some watercolor paper with color shine sprays.  After they dried, I stamped on them and embossed with gold.  Then back out with the sprays to stencil and drip some color onto the paper. 

 

 

In the end, I only use small portions of the papers that I create.

It always happens that way.

Clearly Besotted Challenge

 

I finally sat down at my craft table for the first time since coming home from vacation.

I just wasn't inspired.  I needed a little push, so I decided to play along with the Clearly Besotted challenge.  As we near the end of summer, {boohoo} I love that these colors make you feel like it's still in full swing!

 

I used one of the gift box images from Make A Wish to create a brick wall for my 'graffiti'.

Birthday Wishes {FIF#127}

 

Hi!

I feel like it's been forever since I've made anything.

In reality it's been about a week.

Feels like forever though!

I've just been focusing my creative energy on some projects around the house.

I'm working on updating our guest room.

I found a really pretty comforter, accent pillows, and an upholstered foot of bed trunk at TJ Maxx and that started everything.  The walls are now spackled and sanded and ready for a coat of grey paint.

Dressed Up Envelope

 

Today I have a card and a 'dressed up envelope' for this week's Make It Monday challenge.

The stamp sets are not Papertrey Ink, but almost all other supplies are.

Birthday cards are probably my most favorite type of card to make.

No matter the age of the recipient, fun, bright, whimsical designs are appropriate!
