Things Are Looking Up

Tuesday, March 1, 2016

Hey! Just sharing a quick card that I made yesterday after work.  Sometimes Monday is not kind, but I'm thankful for this hobby that helped to turn my day around.  A little stamping, a little coloring and things are all good again!

Choosing one little stamp to create some funky patterns is an easy way to create something unique.

I hope you're having a great day!
Today was much better;)

Love Triangles

Tuesday, January 12, 2016

Hi!  Flying by with a quick card I recently created with a WPlus9 stamp set called Just Geometrics: Triangles.  I used one little stamp from this set to create my pattern.  I chose colors that felt a little more masculine after playing around with reds and pinks on my last few projects.  I used Nautical Navy, Bo Peep, Black, and Melon Berry.  I used an older WPlus9 set to stamp my sentiment called The Birds and the Bees.  It was released way back in 2010 and I'm pretty sure it has been retired, but any love sentiment would work here.

I don't know about you guys, but since the holidays I have been in kind of a creative slump.  So much was going on during the holidays that I wasn't spending as much time in my craft room.  I was OK with that because prepping for parties, wrapping gifts, and drinking hot chocolate was fun!  Now that things have slowed down I haven't been 'feeling it' if you know what I mean. Normally this feeling doesn't last long and a little bit of creative play and experimenting gets me right back in, but I haven't really felt like it...  I do miss it, though.  I think I'll just have to commit to going in there, even when I don't feel inspired, and play around anyway, even if all I create is tossed in the end.  Hopefully, that will get me going again.  Does this happen to you?

One Little Stamp {Stamped Backgrounds}

Thursday, July 16, 2015

 Good Morning!
I have long since stopped purchasing new patterned papers and I recently gave away {almost} all of the ones I had.  While most of them were beautiful, I just never used them.  I get a lot of enjoyment from the process of making my own and customizing the colors.

One of the ways I like to create my own backgrounds is with One Little Stamp. I went back and tagged as many posts as I could find in case you'd like to see more examples.  Choose one stamp from a stamp set and see what you can do with it.  What else can it become?

I added a layer of vellum because I seem to be addicted to doing that lately ;)  I created, colored, and cut out one 'butterfly' for an accent on the front.  The 'birthday wishes' sentiment is from my 12 Kits Of Occasions leftover stash so I'm not sure where or who it was from.

Thanks so much for coming by today.
Do you buy patterned paper?
Do you use it?

Good Morning!
Today I have a fun, modern pattern to share with you.
I used one little stamp from Modern Beadwork.

{PURE} COLOR COMBO #6

Tuesday, August 19, 2014

Another great color combination using WPlus9 Pure Color Dye Inks.

I took one little stamp from Papel Picado and created my pattern.
I eyeballed the center of the paper and stamped my first image. Then, with my second color, I stamped the image touching each of the four sides.  Then, with the third color, I stamped the image touching each of the 8 sides of the previous. And so on, alternating between the three colors.

I cut the piece on the diagonal several times removing one of the pieces to stamp my sentiment from Hand Lettered Hello.

The WPlus9 August 2014 Release was so much fun!  Tons of great products were released.
Well get ready because Dawn announced that WPlus9 is having a September 2014 Release as well!
Let me tell you, just between us, it's GOOD!

So nice to see you again!

Wallpaper Stamping

Monday, July 28, 2014

What do you do when you're on the phone?
I pace, I doodle, I pluck my eyebrows {lol, I can't sit still}, and sometimes I come up with patterns....
I was poking the end of a pen into my hand and making this pattern out of circles and thought, "Hey, I'm going to try that on my next card!"

I used the small open circle from the original Polka Dot Basics stamp set.
Then I colored each circle with my Copics.
I stamped my sentiment over my background and embossed it with clear embossing powder to help it stand out.

This week's Make It Monday is focused on
stamping your own background or 'wallpaper'.
My wallpaper has a bit of a 70's flair to it.  Perfect for a young boy I think!

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great week!
