Spray Mist Marbling

Saturday, May 28, 2016

Hi! I'm on the WPlus9 Blog today sharing another fun marbling medium: Spray Mists! Check that out {HERE}
 I've tried many mediums for this fun technique.  I love that each piece is so unique.  Check out the rest of my Marbling Series where I've used copic refills, chalk pastels, nail polish, and dye ink refills.

Have an awesome weekend!

Talk about clean and simple, this little card is it.  I just loved those simple little circles all lined up in the corner.  Those little dots started as a piece of cardstock with white heat embossed triangles from Twenty Fifteen.  On top of the triangles I layered several colors of PURE Color Spray Mist in Sweet Gelato, Bloomsberry, and Lake House.

The circles were die cut using this awesome die from Simon Says Stamp called Mod Window.  To add just a bit more detail, the card panel was die cut using the Love Mom Layers Dies.  I finished it off with a simple little sentiment from Smart Kitty.

The WPlus9 PURE Color Spray Mists are awesome.
You can even create marbleized paper with them ;)

Pink Star Nebula {Pastel Marbling Revisited}

Saturday, July 19, 2014

A while ago I made a card suing my pastel marbling technique that I just loved.
I decided I wanted to make a girl version!

Here are the direction again in case you missed them:

Steps for creating this marbled pastel background:
1. Fill shallow container with water
2. Use a craft knife to shave desired pastel colors onto water's surface
3. Swirl the colors together to achieve desired effect
4. Place paper onto surface of water and remove
{you can dip it more than once if you did not pick up enough color the first time}
5. Allow to dry and spray with a fixative to avoid smudging

For this card and the boy version I took it one step further.
 I ran it through my Xyron sticker maker {colored side down}.
I carefully removed the release paper exposing the adhesive
and coated the entire piece in clear glitter.

This Faber Castell Pitt artist pen is perfect for fixing stamped impressions that don't stamp as solidly as you'd like, particularly with Versafine Onyx ink.  It makes it so easy to correct mistakes and is totally undetectable even on large sentiments and images.
I just love it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Have an awesome weekend!

Create Granite Using WPlus9 Ink Refills

Sunday, July 13, 2014

While in CO, we stayed with my husband's brother and his family.
Even though they had just moved into their new house about a week before and were still unpacking and looking for extra plates, they said, "C'mon out!" We had such a nice time with them; I wanted to make and send a special 'thank you'.

I took over 200 photos in the quick 4 days we were out there!
So much beauty everywhere I couldn't resist one more shot.
I thought a Polaroid was the perfect way to represent that part of the trip.

I created my granite/marble mountains using WPlus9's PURECOLOR Dye Ink Refills and my marbling technique.

Nail Polish Marbling {Triple Scoop}

Monday, June 16, 2014

It's getting warmer and warmer around here.
Perfect for ice cream dates in the hot rod.

I created this piece awhile ago and shared a little 'how-to' on the WPlus9 Design Blog.
I finally got around to using it.

Hope you're having a wonderful day!
What do you think this ice cream would taste like?

{Quickie} Card

Tuesday, May 20, 2014

This sweet little card came together quickly with just bits of other projects left on my table.
I love that, especially on a school night where there's a ton of things to do after work, but I still feel the need to create something.

I selectively inked one of the sentiments
from Strictly Sentiments 4 to make it fit my 'love' theme.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Excited For You

TGIF!
 if you're interested in how I have been creating my marbled paper and this butterfly.
You should stop by and see what Dawn has been doing with her stamps.
She is turning them into beautiful watercolor images that even I can recreate.
{I'm no where near as good at it as she is, but I have been impressed with my beginner results!}
I have also added beautiful new projects to the Friday Inspiration File for this week if you need a little extra inspiration.

Happy Wednesday!

A little more Copic marbling to share with you today.
I have a thing for layering my panels at angles lately.  I blame it on Chupa!
I love when she does that.

Hope your week is going well!
