K and R Designs 2014 Year In Review

I've been blogging since 2008 and have posted over 1400 blog posts.  Every year I post more and more.  I went from just 90 posts in 2008 to 215 this year!  I love taking a look back at where I started and how my style has changed and my skills have improved.  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and see what I'm up to all these years and when you leave a comment it just makes my day!

Friday Inspiration File {2014 Favorites}

Wednesday, December 31, 2014

Again, I have decided to re-pin a few of my favorites from this past year.  I've narrowed it down to 14 projects which was not easy.  I just went with my gut. See the full cards in the file labeled {2014 Favorite}  I started the Friday Inspiration File  almost 200 weeks ago as a way to highlight artists and their work.  It's something I really enjoy doing and it seems many of you enjoy it too! This Friday I will be posting week #200!

12 Kits Of Occasions {December 2014}

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

Good morning and welcome to the December 12 Kits Of Occasions post.  Cathy put together a kit filled with everything you could need to create a baby card.  The colors are perfect and the die cuts and pre-made embellishments make the cards come together so easy.  I think I'm set forever with this kit.  I have 3 cards to share with you, but I could have made so much more if I had a little more time.  I think some of the other members made 10+ cards!  Click {here} for a full list of supplies included in this kit.

None of my cards today have any stamping! Can You believe it?
I can't remember the last time that happened, but all of these pieces were so cute and came together so quickly, there was no need.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you'll pop over to the 12 Kits Blog to see what everyone has made or stop by their individual blogs.  Have a great day!

Hope Your Day Is Awesome

Wednesday, December 24, 2014

 Hi! It's been quite hectic here this past week.  My mom has been in the hospital with pneumonia.  The hospital that her doctors use is an hour from my house so it's quite a haul.  My dad has also been sick with bronchitis so it has been rather stressful.  I had a few quiet moments yesterday and felt like coloring.  These Paper Smooches flowers are perfect and a lot of fun to color.

I die cut the white panel with the largest SSS Stitched Rectangle die.  Then I die cut the dotted line several times about an inch apart.  I masked off each panel and then stamped my flowers.  I colored the flowers with Copics and added just a few white details with a gel pen.

Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate!

Throwback Thursday {#tbt}

Thursday, December 18, 2014

Debby from Lime Doodle Design has started sharing Throwback Thursday post on her blog and I thought I'd join her.  I think it's a great idea to take a look back and revisit older projects.  This time last year I was making a few quick and easy Christmas Thank You cards.  We always need to say 'thank you' to family and friends who have given us a special gift.  We want them to be quick and easy, but we also want them to be cute!  These are just that.  I actually think I'm going to make a few more this year just like these.

{Shake} Sparkle and Shine

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

Today I decided to combine some of my favorite new products, stamps from WPlus9 and a new die from Simon Says Stamp.  Rather than stamping the ornament from Merry Little Christmas, I created the ornament with this cool Confetti Circle die.  I did stamp, color, and cut out the metal ornament topper and attached it to the stamped string.

 I stamped a sentiment from Sparkle & Shine  to create a holiday card.  Behind the die cut 'ornament' I attached some vellum and created a shaker using sequins and some glitter snow.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

You Butter Be Mine

Tuesday, December 16, 2014

Every year I give Ryan a box of little notes for Valentine's Day.  I've gotten started on this year's notes with this cute little Knock Knock Valentines sentiment set. I also used the Winter Pals stamps and diesthe snowy Landscape Border hills, and a tiny heart from Unconditionally help to create the scenes.

The inside of each note is stamped with a different joke from the Knock Knock set.
Hope he loves them!

Season's Greetings

Monday, December 15, 2014

 I just know I'm going to need another one, so I just went ahead and made it.  You always need just one more Christmas card!

I love the images from Ugly Sweater so much that I stamped them to create a bright, festive background, colored simply with Copics and dotted with Glossy Accents.  I love the deep, rich red of Cupid's Bow cardstock.  I need to order more.  This backdrop piece is the last full sheet I have!

 How are you doing?  Christmas cards made and sent?
Still making some?

Tree Shakers

Saturday, December 13, 2014

With all of the Christmas cards I've made over the last year, you'd think I would have made enough!
Well, not so.  I've gotten all of the cards I made so far in the mail and their way to family and friends, but needed a few more to finish off my list.   Luckily for me, I have this new tree die from Simon Says Stamp that I haven't had a chance to use yet.

I made two shaker cards using this die.  One more traditional colors {Wplus9 Lake House and Cupid's Bow} and one in pinks and greys {WPlus9 Ballet Slippers and Dove Grey}.

 The trees are decorated with stars and a banner also from SSS.  Oh and the stitched rectangle dies...they're from SSS too!

 I filled the shakers with more stars and some snow glitter from Martha Stewart that I picked up years ago at Michael's.

These came together really quickly.  I think I made them both in about a half hour.  The sentiment on the banner and also another on the inside of the cards is from the Merry and Bright Stamp Set from WPlus9.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a great weekend.
