Using Background Dies As Embossing Plates

Friday, June 29, 2018

Hi! I wanted to pop in and share with you another card I created for the WPlus9 release.  You can read more info about this card on my original post on the WPlus9 Blog.  Today, though, I wanted to focus on using these awesome Trellis Background dies as embossing plates.

It's so easy to turn these die cutting background plates into embossed designs using your die cutting machine and some rubber mats.  I got mine from Papertrey Ink, but many craft supply stores carry them.

I love the look of that subtle texture coming through the circle window.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Tropical Birthday

Sunday, June 24, 2018

Hello, Hello! I hope you're having a lovely weekend.  Believe it or not we are still working on our kitchen renovation! We are doing most of the work ourselves after work and on weekends so it takes a lot longer, but we are getting close!

I spent the day painting doors and working in the yard (not in my craft room) so I thought I'd share a card I made for the WPlus9 Blog when these new products were released.  In case you missed it there, I thought I'd give you a look at it here.

Just some simple Copic coloring on this one.  I love the look of the chalkboard style stamping in the background.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Triple Layer Birthday Cake

Friday, June 22, 2018

Hello!  Summer is here and I couldn't be happier!  Longer days mean more time for all of the things I love: swimming, hiking, crafting...  This newest release from WPlus9 is still inspiring me to create so many fun and unique birthday cards.

I tripled up all of these fun images and colored the top layer with Copic markers.  I limited my colors to pink and gray to create something a little unexpected for a birthday card.  The subtle colors keep it a bit more understated, but still fun!

Build A Birthday Cake

Thursday, June 7, 2018

Hello! I'm still playing around with all the new WPlus9 products.  There's just so much good stuff in there to experiment with!  Today I've mixed And Many More with Tropic Fever.  Two sets you might not think would work together, but that background stamp is so versatile.

I stamped the background in Versamark ink and embossed it in white.  I sponged on color using Papertrey Ink dye ink.  Their color range is so extensive.  So many beautiful colors to choose from and I pretty much have them all except for a few.  I used Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, Raspberry Fizz and Scarlet Jewel.  To tone the colors down a bit I also sponged on a bit of white over the whole thing.

That cake was so much fun to build with the separate stamps included in And Many More.  Hope you enjoyed.  See you soon!
