Guest Designing For The 12 Kits Of Occasions

 

 For several years I was part of a really fun group called the 12 Kits Of Occasions.  Each month a member put together identical kits and sent one to each of the other members.  Armed with all of the same supplies, we set out to create projects and share them at the end of the month.  It was always so much fun to see how each of us used the supplies in such different and sometimes exact same ways!  This month I was invited back, as a guest designer, by Joyce. 

 

Of course, I said Yes!

This month's kit was travel themed.  I loved all of the luggage die cuts, cityscape images, and fun sentiments.  A great color scheme too!

Counting Sheep

 

Hey! There was one set during the WPlus9 October Release that I just didn't have a chance to use, Drummer Boy.  As soon as I saw those cute sheep I knew they would be perfect for a baby or young child's card and I just couldn't get the thought of 'counting sheep' out of my head.

12 Kits Of Occasions {December 2014}

 

 

Good morning and welcome to the December 12 Kits Of Occasions post.  Cathy put together a kit filled with everything you could need to create a baby card.  The colors are perfect and the die cuts and pre-made embellishments make the cards come together so easy.  I think I'm set forever with this kit.  I have 3 cards to share with you, but I could have made so much more if I had a little more time.  I think some of the other members made 10+ cards!  Click {here} for a full list of supplies included in this kit.

 

  

 

None of my cards today have any stamping! Can You believe it? 

I can't remember the last time that happened, but all of these pieces were so cute and came together so quickly, there was no need.

of the 12 Kits Of Occasions.  This month's kit was put together for us by Kim.  Kim put together a kit that had a great mix of traditional/sophisticated images and cute/whimsical images.  Something for everyone!

12 Kits Of Occasions {October 2014}

 

Today is the last we post our 12 Kits Of Occasions October kit projects.  Normally we post on the last day of the month, but since tomorrow is Halloween, we are posting a day early.

This month's comes from Jessica  packed full of autumnal colors, images, and sentiments! Thanks to Tracey for this month's kit photos and collage.

 

 

I couldn't resist framing this cute acorn {colored with Copics and clear Wink of Stella} and words Jessica cut with her Silhouette by embossing 3 pieces from the WP9 Holiday Apertures die set.

 

 

For this fun scene I created the background with distress inks and stencils made with the Landscape Borders dies from WP9.  I also colored all of the cute characters from Avery Elle and the 'thanks' with Copics and clear Wink of Stella.  Adding the fun Foliage Frame makes it feel as if they are walking through the woods...to Grandmother's house maybe:)

 

Finally, I coated this sentiment with glitter and layered it over vellum.  I added sequins above and below the vellum to add sparkle, but keep it subtle.

12 Kits Of Occasions {September 2014}

New DT Member

Not sure if you've noticed, but we have been a member short for awhile.  This is why we have had a guest every month, to be our twelfth.  Finally, we have invited someone to join us permanently and she said, "Yes!"

The fact that we have been a member short also leaves us without a hostess for this month which is why we decided to do a leftovers month.  We are all revisiting old kits and making new projects.

I had intended to get a ton of Christmas cards done, but I just couldn't get into it.  I'm still not ready for summer to be over let alone start thinking about winter.  So I made a compromise, fall!
I put together a kit last year that was Fall/Thanksgiving themed.
I have used colors, images, and sentiments from that kit for my card today.

 

At the last minute I was able to make a project using papers from another one of our past kits for this week's Make It Monday.  I loved the paper so much I bought 2
more pads of it to make all of my Christmas tags last year.

We have invited our Past Guest Designers to pull out their leftovers and join us again this month. Here is a list of the past guest designers who are joining in the fun.  Thanks, Ladies!

Hi!

Happy Monday

I thought I'd share a few Instagram pictures with you today mainly because the only halfway decent picture of this card I could get was with my iphone!  Kraft.......;)  I used Pretty Peonies and stamped the first and second step in white pigment ink.  Then, I added color with Derwent Inktense Pencils and water.  Accented with some dots and a sentiment from Dream Believer.  Had to get the envelope in on the action too!

This month's 12 Kits Of Occasions will be a REWIND!  Revisiting old kit leftovers and using those up.  We have invited past DT member and Guest Designers to join us on the 30th so it should be a lot of fun!  We will also be introducing a new member! I plan on focusing on Christmas cards, but expect everything from Birthday to Get Well to Thanksgiving!
