12 Kits Of Occasions {June 2014}

Monday, June 30, 2014

Good Morning!
Can you believe tomorrow is the beginning of July?
So far the summer has been beautiful here in NJ.  Warm and sunny, but not to hot.
The lawn could use a little rain.  I put in a request for an evening thunderstorm ;)

Since today is the last day of the month I can finally share cards I have created with this month's kit.
Marybeth put together a really beautiful, elegant wedding themed kit, with a few whimsical elements included too!
These kits that we create and send to each other are so much fun.
I encourage you to get together with some friends and give it a try!
Renee wrote a post awhile ago that might help you get started.

This month we have a guest designer that has been with us before,

I loved getting the opportunity to work with these champagne glasses.
I  added a bit of clear Wink of Stella and some pearls to enhance them.

Love this multi-heart die cut! I layered it over a stamped and gold embossed piece that Marybeth sent.  To make the 'happy' die cut work with the design I added some gold embossing powder {twice}.

For these last two cards I discovered I was able to transform the pearlized papers from a subtle tone-on-tone white to vibrant color.  I used PURECOLOR Dye Inks to add color.  It worked perfectly. The pearlized areas resist the color while the paper absorbs it!
Beautiful!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Have fun hopping around for more inspiration!

  5. Oh .. kicking myself here Kara - so clever to ink up that card stock. I was missing some color and I had the solution in front of me the whole time! My favorite card? The Happy with the heart cut out behind it. Love the collage look, all the elements you used, and the peek of coral around the sides.

  9. AMAZING, Kara!! Love the cut out heart with the 'happy'. I'm really liking using two coats of embossing. It really shows off the die cut. And your technique with the paper is an awesome idea. Can't wait to try it out!
