Hello, Sunshine!
We had a beautiful, sunny day here yesterday. It was still chilly, but that sun did wonders for my mood. Maybe that's why I chose to work with such bright, saturated color. I decided to pull out my Bic Mark It pens to color this rainbow and sun die cut from
WP9 Sunshine Layers. Someone recently asked me if I liked this die set. I think all you need to do is look at my cards since it was released and you'll know. Whether it's the scallop frame, the rounded corner rectangle, the clouds, the rainbow, or the word die, I've used this die set on just about every card. I kinda like it ;)
Because this rainbow die does not cut along the bottom, the rainbow stripes stay connected after they have been die cut. To create my border I drew a vertical line as a guide for placing my die. On the first pass I centered the rainbow. Then moved the die to the right and left of the first on my second and third pass through my Cuttlebug. I colored the rainbows and then placed a black strip of cardstock to cover the messy bottom edge of the rainbows.
These markers are alcohol based and you can do some fun techniques with them. On {THIS} card below, I used them with rubbing alcohol to create a watercolor look on die cuts. I just remembered that I wanted to try these eggs this year!
I stamped my sentiment from Sending Sunshine in
Versafine {the best black} ink.
Finally, all of the colored areas got a coat of Wink Of Stella.
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!
