Friday Favorites {FIF #124}

Friday, July 5, 2013

One of my favorite things this week has been my new feather stamps.
I mentioned in my last post how Ryan brings me feathers.
I keep all of those feathers in a little glass jar in my living room.

Another favorite discovery has been Tone It Up videos on YouTube.
They have tons of great workouts!
One that I have added to my weekly workout schedule is this one
It targets areas that for me are trouble and difficult to isolate during my normal workouts.
I couldn't walk for 3 days..lol!

And of course, I have loved so  many of your projects this week.
They have been added to the file this morning.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Reach For The Highest Star

I finally got around to making a page for this event.
I think we are going to do it again this year!

Simple Pages

Friday, August 14, 2009

I've started working on some simple pages of my everyday. This one is about finishing the P90X program. Ryan and I worked (and continue to work) hard to get fit and healthy this spring and summer. I bought myself a new bathing suit and added the tag as a page element.

Today was the last day of summer school. Time to relax!
Have a great weekend.

Way To Go

I saw this card design on the Craftiblog.
I couldn't wait to give it a try. It was really easy to make.

About A Card A Day

Thursday, May 7, 2009

This seems to be my average. About one card a day is the most I have time for these days. Some days I just experiment with some supplies and don't make anything. Ryan and I are on our 3rd week of P90X. It takes up a good chunk of our evening every night, 6 days a week. It is a 3 month commitment to get ourselves back in shape. After that, a normal 3 days a week plus our active lifestyle will be enough to maintain. They are really fun workouts. That helps a lot with motivation. The program includes Yoga and Kenpo, as well as weight training. It is different everyday which keeps it from getting boring. Each workout is and hour to an hour and a half (yoga). We are seeing results already and I have lost 5 pounds:) So the after work routine has been working out, walking the dog, making dinner, ironing work clothes, and making lunches. That pretty much brings us to 9pm every night. I don't know how people work and have kids and find time to do all this other stuff.

One more day and then we can all enjoy the weekend!

Delaware Water Gap

Monday, October 13, 2008

Yesterday we hiked the Delaware Water Gap. Although the leaves have started to change around here, we wanted to go a bit more north to get a better show. We certainly got what we wanted. It was beautiful. A lot of people had the same idea that we had, but the trail weren't too bad. Actually, we met some nice people.

Views from the top.

Rough terrain on the way down, nothing but rock. We were so glad we didn't hike up this way.

Reason #4,761 why Robin should come visit me:)

Grateful

Thursday, October 9, 2008

Grateful that Ryan's car accident this morning only wrecked the car.

Grateful that my legs are strong enough to keep me going for 40 miles.

Grateful for family and good friends no matter how far.

Grateful to accompany 22 little souls on their daily journey.

Grateful for the time and luxury to do what I love to do.

That is by no means the end of the list. Just some of the things I am grateful for today. What are you grateful for?

Belleplain Fall Century

Sunday, October 5, 2008

Ryan and I did our first "ride" yesterday. We didn't do the full century, I'm not ready for that yet. The cycle club marked off several different loops with decision points to make your loop longer if you want to. We decided to do the 35.8 mile loop, one missed route marker and 4 extra miles later, we had done about 40 miles. It was definitely a challenge. The weather and route were beautiful. Lots of back roads and park roads, not much traffic to contend with. We rode first to East Point Lighthouse (18 miles in).

Then continued on to finish the loop. We rode past some beautiful marshes, farms, and houses down there. The whole ride took us about 3 1/2 hours. This was my first long ride so I tried to pace myself and make it to the end. After the ride, we had lunch and then hit a farm stand for some crazy looking gourds. We got 9 for $2! They look pretty on the dinning room table for fall.

We even stopped at the scrapbook store on the way home since it is such a far drive from our house and we were in the area. When we got home we ate dinner, walked the dog, and I think I was asleep by 8:30 or 9:00. It was a great day!

Back to School

Thursday, September 4, 2008

School has started again. In my district, we are coming to the end of the first week. So far, so good. The kids are great and everyone is excited to see what this year will bring. We have a new principal and expect to see some positive changes to an already great school. Some of my friends are sending their kids to school for the first time and I think the kids are handling it better:)

This summer I received an RID certification and I am really excited about that!

Labor day weekend turned out to be a wonderful way to end my summer vacation. Ryan and I went to my brother and sister-in-law's house for the day. They are lucky enough to live right on the beach. I played in the sand with my nephews, relaxed in the sun, chatted with my sister-in-law, ate the best sandwiches, and discovered a new love. KAYAKING I kayaked for the first time and I am hooked. It is so much fun. I can't wait to do it again.

Made a few new cards with my JustRite stamper too.

Which reminds me, I can't wait to see the kids in their costumes at school. So much fun!
