Faux Sashiko Stitching

Tuesday, June 30, 2015

Hello there..
Mid morning is really my most productive time of day.  I'm not really a morning person or a night owl, but between 10 and 2pm is when I have the most energy and feel the most creative.  Normally I am at work during those hours so I really appreciate summer vacation for that reason.

Today I have a background that I created to resemble Sashiko Stitching.  It's a beautiful Japanese art form born out of necessity to repair textiles and clothing. I love using textile techniques on my cards.  A few years ago I used Shibori as my inspiration.  Everything can be used as inspiration for paper crafting and card making!

I started by creating about 10 circle masks.  Then, using the circle stamp from WP9 Greetings and Salutations, I stamped my scallops.  I used a white gel pen to add my 'stitching'.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
What about you? When are your most creative/productive hours? Are you able to craft at those times?
