Hey guys! I'm helping the ladies at the Color Throwdown  challenge blog kick off their weekly challenges throughout the month of June.  Every Wednesday there is a new color challenge to inspire you!

I decided to pull out this WP9 set called Fresh Cut Containers to create a cluster of potted plants.

Tied Together With Friendship

Hello!
It's a rainy morning here to day.  I only got in half of my walk this morning, but I made up for it with squats and dead lifts in the basement ;)

I loved the colors and inspiration image for the new ColourQ challenge.  I immediately thought of this Altenew stamp set.  I used the WPlus9 colors Little Piggy {full strength and stamped off once}, Cockleshell, and Falling Star.

Have a great day! I plan to take advantage of the rainy weather and get back into my craft room.  What are some of your favorite creative challenges?

Faux Sashiko Stitching

Tuesday, June 30, 2015

Hello there..
Mid morning is really my most productive time of day.  I'm not really a morning person or a night owl, but between 10 and 2pm is when I have the most energy and feel the most creative.  Normally I am at work during those hours so I really appreciate summer vacation for that reason.

Today I have a background that I created to resemble Sashiko Stitching.  It's a beautiful Japanese art form born out of necessity to repair textiles and clothing. I love using textile techniques on my cards.  A few years ago I used Shibori as my inspiration.  Everything can be used as inspiration for paper crafting and card making!

I started by creating about 10 circle masks.  Then, using the circle stamp from WP9 Greetings and Salutations, I stamped my scallops.  I used a white gel pen to add my 'stitching'.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
What about you? When are your most creative/productive hours? Are you able to craft at those times?

Thank You

Tuesday, July 16, 2013

Good afternoon.
It's another hot one out there today.
I washed my car, but then spent the rest of the day inside.
I did a little organizing and filing that needed to be taken care of and then spent a little time in my craft room. Again, I couldn't stay away from trying out the new ColourQ colors.
It's hard to tell in the photos, but I did incorporate the two colors of blue in the masked oval.  I stamped the flowers in Aqua Mist and then sponged the Broken China around the edges of the mask.

My aunt hosted our recent family reunion.
She housed all 11 of us!
We turn her house upside down {almost} every year.
I plan to send this to her to say 'Thank You' one more time.

Have a great day!

{Ikea} Bedding Inspired

Thursday, May 2, 2013

Last weekend my parents and I took a trip up to Paramus, NJ {about an hour away} to go to a cool art supply store called Pearl Paint.  I had a few special supplies on my list for use in my art journal.  As we were getting very close I saw a sign for Ikea Drive.  Hmmmm....do they mean Ikea...the store??  I looked to my left and there it was IKEA!  I have wanted to go to Ikea forever, but didn't know where one was and here we had stumbled on it.  Luckily my parents were just as excited to check it out.
So much to look at in that store.  I picked up a few organizational items for my craft room.
While there, I saw this bedding and knew I could recreate it with Wplus9's Lacey Layers!

I'm not a huge purple fan, but loved the way it looked on that bedding.

Tomorrow, along with the Friday Inspiration File,
I'll share a few iPhone pics from our trip to the art store and Ikea.

Thanks for stopping by:)

Stamp Set Roulette {Missing You}

Monday, March 25, 2013

Today's card was created in 7 minutes and 16 seconds.
The little banner was already made, just not stamped.
This little banner is made with the center of the card hanger die cut.  You know, the part we would usually throw away?  I loved the shape and knew I could do something with it.  I love the little banner it creates because it is wider in the middle and tapers on the ends.  I just made a few snips...!

I don't have any sequins, which is the theme of this month's PTI Blog Hop, but I did have these cool little faux eyelets that to me look very much like sequins without the facets.

This card features two of my older stamp sets.
In an effort to revisit these older sets I have, and still love, I challenged myself to a Stamp Set Roulette.  These two sets were chosen randomly and had to be used together.  These sets were much easier to marry than my last two picks.  I am really enjoying having these sets on my desk again!
I love that Leigh decided to accept the challenge too.  You can see her beautiful card here.

Have fun at the hop.
Can't wait to see what you've made!

10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge #13 {Emphasize the Negative}

Friday, March 8, 2013

Another crazy craft dash.
I got this one done in 8 minutes 42 seconds!

I die cut the two doily shapes from the front panel, positioned it on the card with removable adhesive, and traced the outline of the die cut area with a pencil.  When I removed the front panel, I stamped in the penciled area and finally erased my pencil marks.  Then I popped the panel up with pop dots and created the other layers.

I was a little stumped at the end about how I wanted to incorporate the green.
Then I quickly rummaged through my rhinestone stash and found these.
Thanks for stopping by.

I am also entering this into the Moxie Fab Emphasize The Negative Challenge!
Thanks for the suggestion, Suzanne!!
