Friday Favorites {FIF #128}

Friday, August 2, 2013

My sweet Lady is getting older.  She's having trouble with her back legs.  She was slipping and falling a lot on our hardwood floors downstairs so I ordered her some Power Paws.
She took them off at first, but has been leaving them on and really seems to know they help her.
They work well, but if this is something your aging dog needs I would suggest searching for some that have the grips on both sides of the socks because when Lady plays while wearing them they do tend to twist on her paws.  All in all, though, I am happy with them.
They are definitely helping her:)

The guest room is coming together.
I finally got the paint up on the walls and I love it!
The color is Granite Grey by Glidden.

My parents came by the other night for some burgers
and my sweet dad brought me sunflowers!
He never comes empty handed:)

The little bird in my geranium finally took his first flight.
I was so thrilled to come outside at just the right moment to see him!

I've had such a great week.
I hope you did too.  As we head in to the weekend, I hope you have some free time to make something pretty.  If you are in need of some inspiration to get you started,

Glittered Eggs

Sunday, March 24, 2013

While the clothes tumble around in the dryer I have been glittering some eggs.
Yesterday morning I blew the yolks and whites out of about 8 eggs.  I wanted to try to make the smallest holes possible so they didn't show later.  I found that the smallest holes almost made me burst a blood vessel trying to blow the egg out...lol!  Don't be afraid to make one of the holes a little bigger than you might want, it won't show later.  I used a large needle to make my holes.
 Blow the eggs out into a container.  This way you can refrigerate them and make french toast tomorrow morning.
Yum!
After blowing out the eggs I put them in a bowl of water.  After they fill up slightly with water, shake them around, and then blow the water out.  This way you clean the inside of the eggs.  Set them aside on paper towel to dry.
 I let mine dry over night.

This morning I coated them in glue with a paint brush and then rolled them around in glitter.  I used Tombow Mono Multi Glue.  The glue forms a seal over the holes and you can't even see them anymore.  Once they are coated in glitter, set them aside to dry.

Craft Room Wall {Birds}

Monday, January 21, 2013

I bought these birds several months ago with the intention of placing them on my craft room wall.
I wasn't sure if I wanted to paint them, cover them in paper, or some other treatment.

I finally decided to dip them in gold!

I love how they turned out!

Gold Dipped Inspiration

Monday, January 21, 2013

Inspiration can come from anywhere.  Home decor, jewelry, art, and even pencils!
These are the images that inspired yesterday's project!
I'm still having fun with translating this look into my craft projects so I'm sure I'll be posting more.
What is inspiring you these days?
