A Friend Like You

Sunday, February 26, 2017

Hey Guys! I hope that wherever you are you are experiencing the same kind of beautiful weather we have been having here.  It's been a little taste of spring, and although it's not here to stay {yet} it is making me so happy!  Thanks for all of your well wishes; I am feeling much better!

Today's card design created a two for one!  I started by die cutting the Concord and 9th butterfly from masking paper.  I adhered the mask to the center of a piece of white cardstock.  I burnished it with a bone folder to ensure no ink would seep underneath the mask.  I then stamped squares in a 3x3 grid.  I used the solid square stamp from WP9 Greetings and Salutations. I decided to choose inks in a rainbow-like order.  I used mostly PTI ink colors: Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, Harvest Gold, New Leaf, Spring Rain, Enchanted Evening, Winter Wisteria, Scarlet Jewel, and Versafine Onyx.

Once my grid was stamped I removed the mask and die cut the panel with the Concord and 9th Friend Like You die.  I made sure to hold onto all of those tiny letters.  I attached it to a black card base and popped up a black butterfly on the masked area.

In order to place all of the letters in the right place on my second card I die cut another, thinner, piece of cardstock using the same die to use as a guide.  I attached the guide to the black cardstock using temporary adhesive.  Then I was able to add liquid adhesive in the letter openings and easily insert the letters.  Once I was done I removed the guide and all of the letters were perfectly placed and secure.

I love this sentiment!  Thanks for coming by today.  See you again soon!

One-Of-A-Kind

Tuesday, February 21, 2017

Hey! Hope you're doing well.  I'm a little under the weather, but I think I'm starting to get better!! These bright colors help for sure.

I love this Thanks Scallop Border Die from SSS and I wanted to play around and see how else I could use it.  I decided to try die cutting a double scallop and it turned out really cool.  I stamped some of the solid butterflies from the Butterfly Dreams stamp set, from Reverse Confetti, behind the THANKS cutout. I used a large butterfly from the same set as the focal point.  I inked it up with three PURE Color Dye Ink colors {Shell Pink, Sweet Gelato and Cranberry Crush} I attached the scallop piece with some dimensional adhesive to add some interest and contrast between the white on white elements.

Thanks so much for coming by today.  Visit me tomorrow on the WPlus9 Blog where I'll be sharing another colorful design.  It's almost time for the WPlus9 March Release so keep an eye out for that!  As always, products are linked below {affiliate links used}

Hey Guys! Happy Saturday. {Just realized it's actually Sunday. Shows you how behind I am! Lol} I'm just now getting around to pinning to the Friday Inspiration File for this week.  Ooops!  In the meantime I thought I'd share a card I had on the WPlus9 Blog last week.  I pulled out an awesome die that I didn't have the chance to use when it was released.  It's called Outlined Roses.

Stop by the WPlus9 Blog for all the details.  Do you follow the WPlus9 Blog?  If not, you really should.  Not only does the Design Team post regularly, but Dawn also has a slew of Guest Designers each month.  So much great inspiration!

Have a great day! Thanks for popping in!
