I had the chance to experiment some more in my art journal.
Watercolors have been my medium of choice.
This time I wanted to incorporate a pen and ink style with my watercolor.
I created the page at the bottom of this post.
Then I wanted to translate that design into something CAS for some cards.
To create the butterflies on my card I started with a full sheet of white cardstock. I stamped the flowers and leaves using Versafine ink. Then I went back in with a black pen to loosely trace the stamped image as well as add more lines. This gave the image a more hand drawn look.
On my work surface I rub various ink pads and then sprayed them all with water.
Using one color at a time and drying in between, I flicked, dropped, and dripped the watercolor onto the images.
I was tempted to use the whole sheet, but really wanted something more simple.
I chose to die cut the paper with butterflies.
For my art journal page I used the same butterfly die.
I turned it cut side down on my watercolor paper and traced it with my pen.
I then went back in and added extra squiggles.
Thanks for coming by today.
Have you been experimenting with anything new lately?
