Make It Monday: Faux Watercolor Technique

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

This week's MIM is a faux watercolor technique using dye inks.  I stamped my dragonflies in white and the went over the ink with my aqua pen.  The I decided to use my pen and pick up ink directly from the ink pad and 'paint' the color onto the stamped image.  It was so simple and the effect is so soft and mimics the beautiful, translucent look of real wings.

Going on a date with my honey tonight!

Cardstock: PTI White, Kraft
Stamps: PTI Happy Trails
Ink: Memento Black, Color Box Frost White, Sky Blue, Spring Moss, Pink
Other: Rhinestones, Sweet Blush Ribbon
