Grow A Dream

Saturday, June 4, 2011

This week's MIM is Cracked Glass!  Not a new technique, but one that is fun to revisit. Heather made a really beautiful set of floral cards.  I decided to use this technique on the watering can to give it an aged look, like it has been left outside all year long.  I stamped it with grey ink, but didn't get the color that I wanted for the tin.  Following the stamped image as my guide, I used my grey copics to color and shade the can.  After that, I "flicked" alcohol onto the colored image to get a mottled look.  Layers and layers of clear embossing powder later, I cracked and inked the watering can.  Looks a little old and rusty I think :)

I stamped the background with the house from Boards and Beams to represent the dream of home ownership.  Tuck a gift card in the seed packet and it's the perfect gift for someone purchasing a new home!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
