Next Friday we are having a Read-A-Thon at school. Since our 5th graders don't wear their Halloween costumes to school or have class parties, we still want to give them a chance to do something fun. The kids can wear comfy clothes and spend the morning reading independently, sharing their favorite stories with the class, and listening to stories read by the teacher.
I wanted to make each child a bookmark. I wanted to keep it easy to make, since I needed 25. I am also realistic and know what happens in the hands of 5th graders. I'm sure I'll find more than 1 crumpled, discarded bookmark at the end of the day and I wanted to be OK with that. This is what I came up with. I hope they like them:)
Cardstock: PTI Rustic White
Stamps: Up Up and Away, All Booked Up
Ink: Memento Brown, PTI Ripe Avocado, Color Box Moss Green, PTI Enchanted Evening, PTI Spring Rain, Memento Dandelion, Cantaloupe, Tangelo, Blush Pink, Lady Bug
Kara these are FABULOUS!!! What a GREAT idea!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a WONDERFUL weekend!
You are WAY better than me with your resolve to be "OK" with the crumpled up bookmarks. I am the sort to go searching trying to find out which one of them crumpled up my creation..lol..which is probably why I am never asked to make things like this. Heehee..
ReplyDeleteI like them, though. Very cute. And you might be surprised..a lot of 5th graders love to read and might really love this! :)
This set makes great book marks...super idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky group of 5th graders! Your bookmarks are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThese are really cute. Simple but so colorful and pretty. Still looks like a lot of stamping if you are making 25 of these.
