12 Kits of Holidays {February}

 

 

We're back again this month with a new 12 Kits of Holidays.

Our new format sprinkles in other holidays throughout the year {like Valentine's Day} besides just Christmas.

However, this month it is Christmas in February!

Renee send us a fun kit with everything necessary to have a country Christmas.

Fun sentiments and colors make this a unique kit!

 

I cut the base of this green bow in two pieces so that I could make it larger than the plaid base even though they are really the same size in length.

 

 

 

These little letters came as a rectangle, but cutting a little v shaped notch in the end turned them into a cute banner.

 

 

 

Renee sent us this image stamped in 3 colors.  I cut a section of each color so they could all be layered on top of each other.

 

I hope you will visit the other ladies and see what they have created using the same supplies.

I love hopping around and thinking to myself, "Why didn't I think of that?"  Luckily I still have some pieces left over to CASE them:)

A beautiful, new Monday Mood Board from Wplus9.

Combining pink, feminine details, and metals make this a fun inspiration piece!

 

 

I've made these Quilt Cut {die} flowers before using patterned paper.  This time I arranged several stamps from the Folk Art Florals set onto my block and stamped them all at once using Sweet Blush ink.

All Star Birthday Card

I wanted to share with you a card of mine that was published in the

March/April issue of Paper Crafts Magazine.

 

 

I designed my card around this sketch from PC Magazine.

A lot of masking. 

I think I had 8 circle masks all together so that I could get the circles to overlap the way I wanted.

With 5 nephews, a brother, and a husband, I have some experience with the things that boys {and men} carry around in their pockets.

  Sometimes the strangest things!

 

I also wanted this card to be dream-like and represent all the things swirling around in little boy's imaginations.

Pattern Play

 

Why I'm drawn to the smallest, most unassuming

stamp in the set, I'll never know.

I love math.  Math and Art. 

Maybe this is my way of combining both sides of my brain!

 

For my first pattern I used the little location marker. 

That little stamp can be used in so many ways.

This second pattern uses the two luggage strap stamps. 

I used them to create a herringbone pattern. 

 

I love making my own pattern papers,

 but then I can't cut them up!
