Basic {Grey} Inspiration

I love Basic Grey's advertisements in Creating Keepsakes magazine and on their website.

To showcase their new paper line, they use the different patterns to create an image.

I decided to try this with a stamped image from Martha Stewart. I used Basic Grey' Porcelain line of papers. I stamped portions of the image about 7 times and then cut them out. I popped some of the pieces and adhered some flat.

I like the way it came out.

You Make My Heart Sing

My first attempt at using my Copic markers. I think I needed a bit more drying time on my black ink before adding color, but over all I am pleased with it. I'm going to give it to Ryan as a thank you card for my birthday gift:)

Early Birthday Present

Ryan bought me a set of Copics for my birthday. He requested that they be sent to his work address so that I wouldn't see the box. They made a mistake and sent them to our house instead. Ryan let me open them early so that I could play with them these last few days before school starts. I have been watching Copic tutorials all morning.

Honorable Mention

It is so exciting to be chosen for an honorable mention on the PAPERTREYink blog. It feels good when someone whose work and creativity you admire recognizes you and your work.

This is the new version of the page I posted the other day. I decided to have hidden journaling instead and use photos from a class trip. I like this one much better.

Inspiration Everywhere

I was in Stop& Shop yesterday. They have new signs in each department that include this series of open circles. I really liked the idea and knew I had this open circle stamp from my Polka Dot Basics stamp set. Looks cool. The image is from an old card my mother-in-law saved and then gave to me. It is a painting, not a photograph.

The little envelope holds my thoughts. I have discovered that when I write on the layout, I end up not liking it as much as I did originally. Which is why I ended up redoing this layout. I'll post the new one tomorrow.

The Next Page

A lot of changes this summer. I'll be starting in a new school district this fall. It is bittersweet. I'm excited to start in a new place doing what I love to do, but I will miss the people I have worked with for the last 8 years. On to the next stop along the road.

Simple Pages

I've started working on some simple pages of my everyday. This one is about finishing the P90X program. Ryan and I worked (and continue to work) hard to get fit and healthy this spring and summer. I bought myself a new bathing suit and added the tag as a page element.

Today was the last day of summer school. Time to relax!
