Hello and Welcome to Day 1 of the WPlus9 April 2015 Release.
Because of the Easter holiday, the release schedule is a little different to allow everyone to enjoy time with family and friends. Normally new product is available on the 5th of the month and we share projects leading up to the release. This month all new products are available now in the WPlus9 Store and we will be sharing projects all through the coming week. I am providing links to the 'New Arrivals' page where you will find all of the new products because I am out of town on a girls' trip with some old friends. I will provide direct product links when I get home.
My first project uses an adorable new set designed by none other than Joni Andaya, Smart Kitty! I couldn't wait to use these little guys. This set is puurfect for creating cute little scenes, but I also think many of the images are 'stand alone' and could be used without the kitties. To create my background, I started by die cutting white cardstock with the largest Love Mom Layers Die. This die creates a beautiful stitched edge and rounded corners. I masked off the area beyond the stitched lines on all sides and stamped the stack of books image, from Smart Kitty, repeatedly. I colored them all with my Copic markers in bright, primary colors. To mute them just a bit and leave the focus on my main images, I die cut a piece of vellum with the same die and overlaid it onto my background.
The focal point is created using several stamps and dies from Smart Kitty. They are colored with Copics and layered onto a stitched circle, also from the Love Mom Layers Die Collection. The whole thing is mounted on a card base made of Coal Mine cardstock, a new release this month!
I just love this sweet set. Way to go Joni!
