Stamping Masculine Prints

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

Good Morning.
Happy New Year's Eve!
Do you have any plans?
My husband and I always stay in on New Year's Eve.  We  prefer to stay home, safe and warm, instead having to be out on the roads.  Not only that, but by now we are holiday partied out and just want to celebrate in a low key way.  We watch movies and/or play games.
Ryan usually cooks a special meal.  I love it!

I had so much fun stamping these fun masculine prints the other day.
Yesterday, I put them to use.
I know Father's Day is a long way off, but when the inspiration strikes you just have to go with it.
I purposely placed the glasses at the top, above the mustache, with the bow-tie underneath to mimic a man.

I used my left over pieces to create a second card for this week's Make It Monday.
This week's topic is angled backgrounds.
I placed the leftover strips with random angles back and forth and then trimmed whatever hung over the edge.

Have fun tonight and stay safe!!
See you next year ;)

  3. I'm absolutely loving your interpretation of the MIM angled cards. The solid stripe in between each layer really cuts down on the busy nature of this type of design. I loved this technique and will reuse it with a solid stripe as I feel my contribution was a little too busy. Thanks for your great idea!

  4. Happy New Year Kara...fabulous cards but your take on MIM is simply fabulous! I love the black borders, so striking and so masculine!
We stay home to celebrate too but this we decided to go out, dinner and dancing in San Francisco, should be fun!

  5. The stamping on these panels is fabulous Kara - love the order & bow on the first one. It will be a quiet NYE for us too - we might go to a movie, but like to be home for midnight.

  12. These are both fabulous. I love how you put all the images in their proper order. And, your take on the MIM is brilliant. I love how you added a solid strip, and copied that idea on the MIM card I am working on. Your New Years Eve sounds just like ours. Happy New Year.
