Thinking of You

Monday, October 11, 2010

These images from Anna Griffin are just beautiful.  I picked up this set today at TJMaxx for $1.99!  You can't beat that price.
I had to use just a bit of glitter on this one too!

A Beautiful Day

Sunday, October 10, 2010

Today was just gorgeous!!  Ryan and I went for a bike ride on the Henry Hudson Trail .  It's old railroad tracks that are no longer in use.  The tracks have been paved over and it is now a bike trail.  After that we went to a street festival in Keyport.  It's really beautiful down by the waterfront.  It was such a clear day we could see NYC.  Ryan's brother met us there for lunch.  They had live music and really good BBQ!
In between batches of molasses cookies I made this card, inspired by the beautiful blue sky.
One more day off.  How lucky I am!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
I have entered this card into the MoxieFab Glitter Challenge.  Check it out!

Tiny Treats

Saturday, October 9, 2010

I put together some {tiny} treats to have around just in case little ones stop by.  If they don't get eaten, I will probably end up putting them in friend's mailboxes at school. 4 nuggets fit perfectly in these tiny glassine bags.

Glitter Pumpkins

Friday, October 8, 2010

I made these pumpkins after work today.  So easy and fun and they don't use as much glitter as you might think.
This pumpkin is purple, not blue.  No matter how I photographed it, it came out looking blue.
Have a Great Weekend!

Circles and Swirls

I feel in love with the design of Nernia's card.  It felt so fresh and was so pleasing to look at.  I used her design for this card.  You can see her card here.
The long weekend is almost here!
 Thanks for stopping by today.

Checkerboard Christmas

Monday, October 4, 2010

I couldn't resist making another glitter card.  Now this isn't what I would consider a "more elaborate design" than the previous card, but it does make a cool effect.  I have to say that most of the 'wow' comes from the quality of this glitter.  Martha Stewart glitter really is a great quality glitter.
It has the most magnificent sparkle!
A few people have asked for a tutorial.  Unfortunately, with work I barely have time to make the card let alone a tutorial for it:) So what I have done is taken photos of my Paper Crafts Magazine.  These photos are on page 88 of the November/December 2010 issue.
I hope that helps!
Thanks for stopping by:)

All That Glitters

Sunday, October 3, 2010

Another cool concept from Jessica Witty.  I was dying to try this, but kept it very simple for my first design.  Using an adhesive sheet and an xacto knife, I planned out my pattern.  Revealing first the stripes for red glitter, then peeling back the second set of stripes and adding the second glitter color ands so on... I'm looking forward to trying a more elaborate design next.
I know in the photo the one glitter looks blue, but it is actually purple.
I've never used black glitter before this.
It is so cool in person!
