Good Morning!
I've spent the last few days working on projects using the August Kit from 12 Kits Of Occasions. August is my month and I put together a bright, fun kit that I hope the group is having fun with!
This morning I decided to make something I could share.

For this square card I created my background using a striped stencil.  I taped it down one way and added ink with a finger dauber. Then picked it up and taped it down so the stripes were going the opposite way and added more ink, creating a lattice.

Alright, time to get out of my pajamas and run some errands!
Have a great day.

Bokeh Made Easy

Saturday, August 9, 2014

On Day 1 of the WPlus9 August Release Dawn shared a video
demonstrating her technique for Bokeh Made Easy. I finally had a chance to try it.  She's right, it is easy!
The end result is so pretty and ethereal. I'd love to try it again,
but using dark colors on the background.....
Oh, great now I'm never going to get dinner started.

I created my background with Distress Ink in 3 colors
smooshed onto my craft sheet and spritzed with water.
I created a stencil using dies from several circle dies.  I added white ink over top of my dried background.  Loved the look!  I decided {once my ink was completely dry} to gold emboss my sentiment and also emboss the edges.

Watch Dawn's video here.  Make sure to stop the WPlus9 YouTube Channel for more videos. I love watching card making videos!  Do you?  I'll put together a list of my favorite channels to share with you soon!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Hip Hip Hooray {It's Friday}

Friday, August 8, 2014

It's finally Friday!
Tomorrow I will be celebrating a special 2 year old's birthday.
I wanted to make his gift colorful, fun, and personalized.  I adhered wrapping paper to cardstock and die cut his name and age to add to the card.  Instead of an envelope, I wanted to use the ribbon on the gift to hang the card.

The Friday Inspiration File has been stocked with fresh new projects that caught my eye this week.
Check them out!

Have an awesome weekend!

{PURE} Color Combo #5

Thursday, August 7, 2014

create such a bright, bold, summery feeling.

I love this card.
I stamped the banners from Basic Banners
and layered the die cuts on top, popped up on foam adhesive.

For this cared I created a fun pattern with the small butterfly stamp from Flora & Fauna 2.
The larger butterflies and the sentiment are popped up on foam adhesive also.

On both cards I curved the wings of the die cut butterflies
for a little added shape and dimension.

Tomorrow's Friday!
Almost there.  Have a great day.

A {Pear} Of Shakers

Wednesday, August 6, 2014

Good Morning.
Today I have a "Pear" of shakers to share with you using WP9 Punny Produce Pears and the Clear Cut Stackers Pear Dies. First I created my own patterned paper for the outside of this card and the inside of the other.  After stamping the pears, I dripped on a little watered down Wild Mango Ink refill.

I filled this shaker with the small pear die cuts, some sequins, and a bunch of seeds!
I love those tiny seeds in there..so cute!

This one is filled with sequins and backed by my patterned paper.

Hope you're having a great day!

Today is all about the hummingbirds!
I love hummingbirds so much.  I have bracelets, calendars, etc..
All of the sets from this month's release work so well together.  This card alone uses 4 of them.

For this card I wanted to create a modern hanging planter.
I kept it simple and dipped it in gold to create the style I have seen popping up on Pinterest.

WPlus9 August 2014 Release {Day 4}

Monday, August 4, 2014

Today's projects include so many of the new products being released this month.
Both prominently feature a stamped background using Papel Picado.  This set also has companion dies that I used on the project I shared on Day 1.

Papel Picado
Available 8/5/14

For this first card, I stamped the background in Ocean Drive and Mojito PURECOLOR Dye Ink.
If you start stamping in the corner it helps keep your design straight.
I finished off the card with a little stamp set called Punny Produce: Pears and Clear Cut Stackers: Pears dies.  The large pear is colored using Mojito Dye Ink and the small pear just has a bit of color sponged on the edges.  I cut the small pear again from cardstock colored with Coconut Husk Dye Ink so that I could inlay the tiny seeds.

Punny Produce: Pears
Available 8/5/14
Clear Cut Stackers: Pears
Available 8/5/14

The inside is complete with a simple image and sentiment that coordinates with the outside.

For the background on this next card I chose another small image from Papel Picado and stamped it repeatedly to create a trellis-like pattern for my stacked planters from Fresh Cut Containers.
This set includes a ton of great images.  They work really with Wplus9's other Fresh Cut Floral sets.  I also can't wait to fill a pocket, from A Pocketful, with these beautiful new multi-step flowers.

I stamped the pots in Coconut Husk Dye Ink and the flowers in Sweet Gelato and Cranberry Crush Dye Ink.  Everything is popped up at different heights to create real depth.  A bitty butterfly from Flora & Fauna 2 was drawn to the bright flowers ;) Hand Lettered Thanks stamps and dies are the finishing touch.

WPlus9 August 2014 Release {Day 3}

Sunday, August 3, 2014

Good Morning!
Today I have more to share from the WPlus9 Release.
Today I have a project featuring two new sets,  Flora & Fauna 2 and Hand Lettered Thanks {available 8/5/14}.
The previously released Hand Lettered Hello stamp set and die has become such a staple in my collection and I know this one will too!

To create the tie dye/ watercolor look on the 'thank you' die cuts I used Twinkling H20's.
These little pots are full of shimmery color. To activate them you simply remove their lids and spritz with a little water.  In a few seconds they are ready to go.  With a paint brush, I added several colors randomly onto the die cuts.  I then dabbed off the excess moisture and color with a paper towel and set them aside to dry.

I created a multi-layered background. One of which is entirely covered in glitter.
I simply ran a piece of cardstock through my Xyron sticker maker, removed the release paper, and added glitter to the entire piece. I accented the front with a beautiful die cut butterfly from the Flora & Fauna 2 stamp set and companion dies.To finish off the card I stamped the smallest butterfly in Lake House Dye Ink and added another little sentiment from Hand Lettered Thanks.  I love sets like this that allow you to customize your own sentiments.  There are so many ways to mix and match them and create just the right message!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

I have another card featuring Flora & Fauna 2 and Strictly Sentiments 5
on the WPlus9 Design Blog today.

There's still time to enter my giveaway for a chance to win the new Lucky Stars stamp set.
