Somebunny Loves You

Monday, March 9, 2015

I know, I know, these are not bunnies, but I wanted to use this sentiment anyway. How cute are these little chicks?  This is the first My Favorite Things stamp set I have ever purchased.  I went a little nuts and ordered several stamp sets from several different companies, MFT, Waffle Flower, Avery Elle, Mama Elephant, and Simon Says Stamp.  You can see my little haul {HERE} on Instagram.  By the way, are you on Instagram?  It's so much fun to interact, share, chat, laugh, and encourage each other there.

I started by creating this background for my scene.  A simple technique and certainly nothing new, but I just love it every time I see it used on cards.  A little masking and sponged ink creates a subtle grounding for my images.  I used WP9 Bo Peep and Beanstalk dye ink.  I added some sweet little dot details to the chicks using Copic Opaque White.  It comes with a little brush, sort of like nail polish, but it does not give you a very precise application.  Someone, I think on Instagram ;), suggested cutting the bristles.  Instead I just used a small dry embossing stylus and dipped the ball into the bottle to dot it onto my project.  Different sized stylus, different sized dots.

Thanks for visiting.  Hope you're not too tired from the loss of an hour sleep.  I wish they'd do away with Daylight Savings altogether!
