I already made my husband an anniversary card, but I made this little 3x3 card to tuck in his lunch box or dresser drawer.

Take part in Ted's HOT challenge!
We had a great time at my cousin's wedding this past weekend. It's so nice to see family that I don't get to see that often. Tomorrow we are headed out of the classroom for a field trip. I think I am as excited as the kids for a change of pace and exciting adventure:)

Watercolor Dahlias

I love trying new techniques. This is a variation on Batik. I tried it with Copic markers and tissue paper and loved the results. When I saw a tutorial using the same technique, but with watercolors I couldn't wait to try it. It creates such a beautiful and soft effect. I'm excited to try this technique with other stamp sets.
My cousin is getting married and this card will be for her and her new husband on their wedding day. It has been a busy week at work with night performances of the school chorus. My student has a special performance signing one of the songs. She did a great job!

I Just love You
Wednesday, May 12, 2010
Ryan and I will celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary at the end of this month. I wanted to make a card using the things that I love, like flowers and birds, but still make it masculine for him. I love how it turned out! I stamped YOF Sweet Peas over Text Style and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder to create a resist. I stamped over a scrap of that also, to create the hummingbird. I stamped the green over the resisted area and then rubbed the excess ink off to reveal the text and also part of the sweet pea design.
I colored the leaves with copic markers, cut them out, and then inked the edges to age them. I finished off the flowers with some vintage wooden buttons. Cardstock: PTI Kraft, Cream, Brown
Stamps: PTI Birds of a Feather, YOF Violets, YOF Sweet Peas, Delightful Dahlia, Text Style
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, PTI Ripe Avocado, Color Box Dark Brown , Versamark
Copics: YG95, YG97
Punch: Fiskars Upper Crest
Other: Twine, Vintage Buttons, Clear Embossing Powder

This is one of my favorite photos. I took this photo in Central Park. I just love the green and orange against the bright white. Vote for your favorite on Kristina's blog.

I Knew This Day Would Come
Wednesday, May 5, 2010
I knew that eventually I would need to purchase refills for my Copics. The first to go was my T1. I use that one so much. I found a place online, The Merri Artist, that has just about every color refill and marker. Their prices are really good and their shipping is even better. I purchased my order on Sunday evening and they were here this afternoon.
Refilling was a lot easier than I thought it might be. I watched this video beforehand and it was that easy. As you can see in the picture, one refill hardly made a dent in the bottle.

Just a quick little card for our friend's son. I wanted the card to include a little something, so I made him a personalized bookmark. I always liked having things with my name on them, especially because my name was always so hard to find.
