Gold Dipped Valentine

Saturday, January 19, 2013

I did it and in just under ten minutes too!
{9minutes 54 seconds}

Because the banner hangs over the edges of the card, I thought this would be the perfect project to package up for this week's Make It Monday challenge.  I didn't get the packaging in under 10 minutes, just the card!

It's kept closed with a little velcro dot.
Thanks so much for coming by!

Pillow Box Owl

Saturday, January 19, 2013

Another project in the Friday Inspiration File that I couldn't wait to try was by Lisa.
She created the cutest trio of pillow box owls!

Even though she's not as cute as Lisa's, I had so much creating this little owl.
I used about 7 different dies and punches.

I hope you'll join my 100 Week's of Inspiration Challenge.

Wild About Washi Tape

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

The truth is I'm not really.....wild about it that is.
Don't get me wrong, I love the look, but I know me by now.  If I bought a roll I'd use it once or twice and that's it. I would never use a whole roll.  Just like I'd never use a whole pack of one color button so I always buy the combo packs.  Anyway, back to washi tape.
A friend (wink, wink) sent me a roll of washi tape to play with.

One of the cool things about washi tape is its translucency.  I adhered it to an acetate sheet and then die cut it to preserve that quality.

ColourQ #172

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

Hello Again!
Time for another ColourQ Challenge.
These colors are great.  I didn't have a Summer Starfruit equivalent in my stash so I used a yellow.  Seeing them here together, I see that the ColourQ color is more olive than yellow.
Do your best!
If you have PTI colors, try Limeade Ice.  That's what Tracey did and it was a great match.

Creating Backgrounds

Saturday, January 12, 2013

Making my own background paper is truly one of the things that I love most about stamping!
I have always loved the look of argyle, but I don't have an argyle stamp set.
No problem....

I used the doted 'x' stamp from Button Boutique.  After cutting my cardstock to size, I drew a large x from corner to corner to find the center.  I stamped my first 'x' in the center and then stamped out from there and erased my pencil lines.

Then, with one of the diamonds from Happy Harlequin, I added 3 different colors in a pattern starting with the pink one in the center and then working outwards.

Thanks for stopping by today!
