Make It Monday #61 {Flowers With Leaf Dies}

PTI has a new Make It Monday Challenge today.  Dawn made a flower using the leaves from the Sending You die.  I wanted to see what other dies could work.  I first tried to use the large holly die.  I did not like the way the flower looked at all.  I went back to my dies a second time and came across the leaves from the Rosie Posie dies and thought they might work....and they did! The flower itself came out huge.  Way too big for a card, I thought.  I decided, instead, to attach it to a little gift bag.  In it, I could give a card set or treat to someone special!

Easter Treats

I hope you had a great holiday weekend.  We had a nice day yesterday with family.  Our day consisted of a little Easter egg hunt, delicious food, setting up my dad's iPhone with Draw Something:), a nice long walk after dinner, sweets for dessert, and then some relaxing on the couch.  

Everyone loved the chocolate cake! Even my father-in-law was impressed:)  I forgot to add the mint extract to the cake batter so I added a little to the icing and it tasted great.  I did add the mint sprig, but I waited until after transport to put them into the cake.

I have everything I need all ready to make my Easter dessert. 

 My version of Jessica's amazing cakes.  Later this morning I will be decorating the cakes and bringing them to my Mom's.  I'll take a picture and post it later.  I'm so excited to bring them over.  I know my mom will love them!

Make It Monday #60 {Generational Stamping}

My father-in-law's birthday is at the end of the month and I needed a card for him.  I used this week's Make It Monday as inspiration.  It's perfect for him.  I even stamped his envelope!

ColourQ Challenge #131

Happy Tuesday! Every Tuesday the ColourQ has a new color combination for you.  It's an opportunity to challenge yourself by using colors that have been selected my Arielle.  I love a challenge!  This week I don't think you'll have any trouble incorporating these beautiful spring colors into your project!

Spring is a time for weddings. 

I was married in May, my parents were married in April.....

So that means I need anniversary cards.  For this card I used a masking technique that Deanna used on one of her cards that has stuck in my mind since I saw it!  And if you love Deanna's designs as much as I do, you will be thrilled to know that she has just joined the ColourQ Design Team!
