Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Hey guys!
Happy Hump Day!
I knew when school started I' be slowing down a bit on my posting schedule for the first few weeks.  Throw in working on projects that I can't share yet and five days go by with out anything to share.  I miss you guys :)  I thought I'd pop in today and share a few things on my crafty wish list: some old, some new.  With each set I also included a link to a favorite project I've come across featuring that stamp set.

Do you have any of these sets?  Do you love them?
What's on your craft wish list?
See you soon!

Fitting In {Adding New Ink To Your Collection}

Saturday, January 25, 2014

On a recent trip to Michael's I saw these new Heidi Swapp inks.
I love her Color Shine sprays, but I wasn't sure if I really needed these ink colors.  I have so many already and there's no way of knowing just by the label if they will fit in to my existing collection or not.  The next time I went to Michael's, yesterday, I was still thinking about those inks.
Armed with a coupon and a gift card from Christmas I bought them all.  I didn't buy the black or brown because I have so many already, but thought if I loved the formulation I could pick those up later.

I do have a few other inks from brands like Memento and Hero Arts, but the bulk of my inks are from Papertrey Ink, so that's what I used for my comparison.

The Blues:
1. PTI Aqua Mist
2. HS Mint
3. PTI Ocean Tides
4. PTI Hawaiian Shores
5. HS Teal
6. PTI Enchanted Evening
7. HS Navy

The Pinks:
1. PTI Sweet Blush
2. PTI Hibiscus Burst
3. HS Pink
4. PTI Raspberry Fizz

The Yellows/Oranges:
1. PTI Lemon Tart
2. PTI Harvest Gold
3. HS Mustard
4. PTI Summer Sunrise
5. HS Coral
6. PTI Orange Zest

I know there are many pros and cons to each kind of ink.
I'm sure you've tried them all and have a favorite too.
I personally love dye inks. I love that they {typically} don't stain my stamps and they dry quickly.
The HS inks do stain more than the PTI, but not so much that they make it difficult to see through the stamp so I'm OK with that.  They stamp beautifully and I love the colors.  They actually fit in quite nicely and fill in a few color gaps.  I think Mint is my favorite or maybe Teal.  Have I ever mentioned I love blue?  Only a few times ;)
They retail for $5.99, but with the endless coupons for Michael's you can collect them quickly for much less!

Bottom line.....Love 'em!

TGIF
It's chilly here in the Northeast.  I'm loving my chocolate mint tea that I picked up last weekend in Smithville

It's a charming little shopping area not too far from me.  Ryan and I took a ride down there to start our Christmas shopping.  We found a few things for my dad and some tea for me!
It's so delicious.  I find myself thinking about it while I'm at work, looking forward to coming home and having a cup.  The tea is from a shop called Through The Looking Glass.

Another favorite of mine lately is a craft product.  It's a shimmer spray that adds the most beautiful subtle shimmer.  I used it on this card recently.

It's a product that I picked up at Michael's, but the mister bottle is so small that it's almost all gone.
What I found online made me so happy....a refill!
It should be here any day now.  I'm using it on all of my holiday wrapped packages this year.  You'll see what I mean at the end of the month...;)

This was a great week for beautiful projects!
I just added many pins to the file...#143.

Have a great weekend!

I had a great week! How about you?

I just discovered a new store in our local mall called Lush.
I'd heard of Lush, but I hadn't been to the mall in over a year and didn't  know it was there.
They are such a great company that produces natural products that are cruelty free and so much more.
Their products are expensive, but I decided to splurge a little.
I love taking baths!

A bird has built a nest in one of my hanging geranium plants.
I've been watching him {I guess that would be her, but I always call them him} fly in and out with bits of things to build the nest and now I hear little peeps!

Met my hubby for lunch the other day.
It felt good to throw on a little dress and feel pretty:)
My dress is from the Loft.
I love the Loft because I'm 5'4 and their petites are the perfect length for me,
no hemming, and they have great sales!

I love road trips!
We always manage to find ways to make them interesting.
Last weekend we drove out to western PA to visit family and stopped at the coffee pot in Bedford!

So many beautiful projects this week!!
Check them out {#126} and have a super weekend!

I finally purchased a label maker.  I've wanted one for a long time to label all of my non Papertrey Ink stamp sets.  I buy jewel CD cases at Target and put all of my sets into them.  It's nice to finally have them all labeled!  I've also been labeling my daubers, file folders, travel toiletry bottles, and anything else that doesn't move, lol!
Love it!

Visiting my mom on Wednesday, she nonchalantly mentions that a Hobby Lobby opened up about 5 minutes up the road from her house.
I said, "let's go!!"
It's in an old grocery store building in a strip mall.  The store is HUGE!
I would say it is the size of 2 Michael's combined.  It's about 30 min. from my house, not that far!
Unfortunately we got there at about 7:45 pm and they close at 8.  That's great for the employees, but we only go to see about 1/8 of the store.  I plan to take a ride up there next week....early!

Have a great weekend.
Check out the file for some inspiration!

Knock Knock sells some fun and funny list pads.

Are you a list maker?
I am, always have been.
There's nothing I like more than crossing things off of my To Do list!
I've only been on summer break for 4 days and I have gotten so many things done.
Some lists I keep in my phone, but the act of writing lists of things I need to do helps me to clear my mind and relax.  Sounds strange I know, but my fellow list makers probably know what I mean.

One of the projects I have been working on is organizing my kitchen.  Clearing out things we don't use, organizing pantry shelves, etc.  One of my goals in there is to reduce the amount of garbage we create from things like paper towels, plastic wrap, and snack bags.  These little reusable snack bags are perfect for replacing the snack bags we use for our lunches.  They are made of materials that do not harm your health as well.  They are not cheap, but I picked mine up at TJMaxx for $4.99.  You can even make them yourself if you are handy with a sewing machine
{which I am not}.

It's Friday, so I have added some of my favorite projects to the file.
Check them out.
Have a great weekend!

 School...Is...Out!
Yesterday was the last day for our students.
We still have 2 more days for workshops and
finalizing everything before we leave for the summer.
I love all of these dainty necklaces from Dogeared
Perfect for layering.

I've heard and read that Rooibos tea has many health benefits.
I picked some up the other night and it tastes delicious too.
It is caffeine free; perfect for a nighttime drink.
It has a naturally sweet flavor which I really like because I don't want the added sugar.

Enjoy the new projects added to the file.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Ombre' Glitter Nails

So fun and easy to do!
I polished my nails with a clear base coat.  Poured on the Martha Stewart glitter and let it dry.  Follow with a good clear top coat and you're done.  I just did them yesterday, so I don't yet know how well it will hold up.  I can't wait to try in pink to red and yellow to orange!

They say dark chocolate is good for you right?
I've been taking a few squares of this with me in my lunch.  Such a satisfying treat!

Beautiful new projects have been added to the file!

Ordered 5 rolls of 1/4 inch Scor-tape from Becky's Craft Room on Ebay.
Fast and free shipping.  I think I'll be good for awhile now...maybe!

Have a great weekend!

Friday Inspiration File #115

Last Saturday's adventure with my parents started with a trip to Pearl Paint.
It's a store I had been to a long time ago;
two floors of colorful art supplies.
We planned to go again, but found it had moved quite a distance away.
We decided it was worth the hour trip.....take a ride, get some lunch.
This location was much smaller,
but seemed to be packed with just about as much stuff as the old location.
I picked up some modeling paste {so much fun to work with I've discovered},
some spray fixative, a few pens, small linoleum blocks {to carve my own stamps}, and some watercolor postcards
My mom picked up some of the prettiest handmade papers from all over the world.
When we got home, she cut the large sheets in half so she could share them with me.
So sweet!

Then, as I mentioned yesterday,
we stumbled on Ikea and couldn't pass up the opportunity to check it out!
I snapped a few pictures of patterns that caught my eye, but the lighting in there was lousy for photos.

I picked up a few things for my craft room.
This fun wall mounted rod with buckets for odds and ends will go above my work table.
I also got this cute clip display.  Not sure where in my room it's going, but I'll let you know.

This is the bedding that inspired yesterday's card.

Cute birds, huh?
Maybe I'll carve a bird like this into one of my linoleum blocks!

Thanks for stopping by!
I really just came to let you know that the File has been updated and there are some really great projects in there.
Have a great weekend!

Fall Festivals

Sunday, October 14, 2012

We hit two Fall Festivals in one day!  First we went to Haddonfield, NJ.  Such a great town.  I love Main Streets like this one.  Tree lined streets with Gingerbread houses.
 Love it.

We stopped at Ludovico's for coffee and hot chocolate.
Their cookie of the day looked delicious, s'mores!  I didn't get one.  I just looked:)

Haddonfield's festival was small so we walked around in two hours.  We decided to take a ride to Moorestown's festival too.  This festival was larger and also had a car show which made my honey very happy!

This was such a cool idea.
You could make your own custom silk scarf at their booth.  I loved watching it change as the customer added each new color.  I could have stood there all day, but for some reason Ryan wanted to keep walking;)

Hope you had a great weekend too!
