Hello!
So...snow days....they're pretty much the best!
I had a chance to play around today and I'll have even more time tomorrow. We are expecting 18-24 inches of snow overnight. I just hope not too many people lose power.
Piper is loving the snow!
On to the card! This wood stamp is by Serendipity Stamps. Isn't it the coolest? It's a large stamp, about 6x6 I think. I've never had a background stamp that big. Anyway, after stamping it in Versafine Onyx ink I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I know Memento works best with Copics, but honestly I'm not impressed with how that ink stamps. Any time I Copic color I stamp with Versafine. Occasionally I'll emboss it like I did here, but most of the time I'm just very careful when I color not to pull that ink into my image. I've been on the hunt for a Memento reinker, maybe if the pad is wet enough I'll get better results. Until then, Versafine it is. Coloring this took quite awhile, but I think it was worth it. It's certainly not a mass producible card.
Since it's a Valentine's Day card I decided to make the owl living inside peek out from a heart shaped knot hole!
Thanks for stopping by!
