Watercolor Balloons

 

I love these watercolor balloons.

I rubbed a few ink pads onto a large acrylic block and then spritzed it with water.

As the colors mixed, I stamped into the ink and then onto my paper.

A trick I learned from {Betsy Veldman}is to hold the stamp on the paper a bit longer than normal.  This allows the paper to absorb the water and ink and make a better impression.

This made a huge difference in the end result for me.

12 Kits of Holidays {March}

 

 

Welcome to the March edition of the {12 Kits of Holidays}!

This beautiful kit was put together by {Tracey}.  I loved the papers she included so much that it took me a long time to cut into them, especially that floral!

 

 

I love this little PTI bunny.  I gave him a little felt tail:)

  The Easter Treats sentiment is from a WMS set called {Spring Baskets}. 

 

 

I picked up these great treat bags at Michael's and filled them with chocolate coins.  I know chocolate coins...for Easter??  Where are the jelly beans?  I just thought spring...rainbow...pot of gold...chocolate! 

Makes sense to me:)

 

I love these custom die cut words that Tracey created using her Cameo.

 

And, of course I had to make an Easter card for Ryan!

This sentiment is from the same WMS stamp set I mentioned earlier.

Good Morning!

Today is the first day of my Spring Break!

I wish the weather were more spring-like, but I'll happily take the break either way!

My husband also returns home today after a two week business trip, so today is an extra special day.

I have tons of plans for my time off this year.  Usually we take a vacation during this week {Yosemite} {Las Vegas} {Savannah}, but since Ryan was away with an uncertain work schedule we couldn't make any travel plans. Hopefully we will take a {day trip} or two.  I love exploring close to home just as much as distant travel.

 

I haven't just been pinning cookies, I also sat down last night to pin new projects to the Friday Inspiration File {#110}, beautiful cards from my travels around the Internet.

 

Tomorrow, my friends from the {12 Kits of Holidays} and I will be sharing projects from the March kit sent to us by {Tracey}.  Usually we post on the last day of the month, but we decided to post a day early since we will likely be busy with Easter/Family fun! I bet you can guess the theme of Tracey's kit;)

10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge #14

 

Today's card was created in 7 minutes and 16 seconds.

The little banner was already made, just not stamped.

This little banner is made with the center of the card hanger die cut.  You know, the part we would usually throw away?  I loved the shape and knew I could do something with it.  I love the little banner it creates because it is wider in the middle and tapers on the ends.  I just made a few snips...!

 

March Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

I don't have any sequins, which is the theme of this month's PTI Blog Hop, but I did have these cool little faux eyelets that to me look very much like sequins without the facets.

 

 

This card features two of my older stamp sets.

In an effort to revisit these older sets I have, and still love, I challenged myself to a Stamp Set Roulette.  These two sets were chosen randomly and had to be used together.  These sets were much easier to marry than my last two picks.  I am really enjoying having these sets on my desk again!

Glittered Eggs



While the clothes tumble around in the dryer I have been glittering some eggs.

Yesterday morning I blew the yolks and whites out of about 8 eggs.  I wanted to try to make the smallest holes possible so they didn't show later.  I found that the smallest holes almost made me burst a blood vessel trying to blow the egg out...lol!  Don't be afraid to make one of the holes a little bigger than you might want, it won't show later.  I used a large needle to make my holes. 

 Blow the eggs out into a container.  This way you can refrigerate them and make french toast tomorrow morning.

Yum!

After blowing out the eggs I put them in a bowl of water.  After they fill up slightly with water, shake them around, and then blow the water out.  This way you clean the inside of the eggs.  Set them aside on paper towel to dry. 

 I let mine dry over night.

 

 

 

This morning I coated them in glue with a paint brush and then rolled them around in glitter.  I used Tombow Mono Multi Glue.  The glue forms a seal over the holes and you can't even see them anymore.  Once they are coated in glitter, set them aside to dry.

Saturday With The Boys

 

I had a great day yesterday with my nephews.

We went to the park.  We played on the playground, chased geese, and froze!

It was beautiful, but so cold.

 

Today I'm staying in to work on a few projects {yay!} and get the laundry done {boo!}.
