I hope you can see a little bit of the twinkle.
In person they really shimmer!
I hadn't until recently. They are little pots of watercolor paints that have mica
in them to make them shimmer.
The color in the pots is dry and there are several ways to activate them.
You can spray water directly into the pots or
you can spray water onto a craft sheet and wet your brush.
For my card, I wet my brush and then went into the pots.
I wanted to activate the colors, but not water them down too much because instead of painting directly onto the paper I wanted to stamp with them. This works best if the color is a paste consistency. I painted the color onto my stamp, spritzed the stamp with water from about 6 inches away, and then stamped onto my die cuts.
For my background I wanted a more subtle wash of color so I sprayed water directly into the pot and let it sit a few minutes.
After everything was dry, I went back in with a fine liner pen. I wanted to give the feeling of drawn images that had been painted in with watercolor rather than stamped.
Enjoy the hop!
I can't wait to see what you've come up with
with all of those pretty color palettes to choose from.
