CASEing Genius Blog Hop Winners and Cupcakes

Monday, November 9, 2015

Hi! Friends of ours got engaged this past week.  We met because the groom-to-be is a coworker of my husband.  I'm always sending baked goods to work with Ryan and this called for something special.  I made 24 vanilla cupcakes with a vanilla buttercream frosting.  I wanted to make sure that the bride-to-be could enjoy a cupcake, too, so I packaged up two of the cupcakes in special little boxes.  I tied them up his and hers style.  Ribbon for her, baker's twine for him. I created seals for the boxes using the Little Labels stamp set and dies from Papertrey Ink.  I included a card that I made quite awhile ago with stamps and dies from WPlus9.

I added color with distress paints through a stencil, die cut hearts, and added doodle lines.  See the original post here.

Doodle Leaves

Monday, June 22, 2015

Hello again! Today is the first day of my summer vacation YAY!  I got up early and got my exercise out of the way.  It's only day one ,so I'm not patting myself on the back quite yet.  After breakfast I decided I had earned a little craft time.

I started this project by stamping these solid leaf images in a fun color combo of WP9 Nautical Navy, Lake House, and Sweet Gelato Dye Ink.  I allowed time for the ink to dry before adding some doodling with a white gel pen. I then colored in the entire background with a T1 Copic Marker.

I added a little texture to the background by applying some rubbing alcohol through a stencil.  I used a paper towel to pick up the alcohol and press it through the stencil. Finally, I stamped the sentiment on vellum using Versamark ink and embossed it in white.

Thanks so much for coming by!

DIY Doodle Flowers

Sunday, June 14, 2015

I wanted to create my own doodle flowers using some basic shaped stamps and pens.  I used the solid circle stamp from Greeting and Salutations.  I wanted to add in a larger solid circle, but I didn't have the size I wanted.  I decided to use the back of the large circle in the Papel Picado stamp set.  Perfect!

I stamped my circles in Falling Star, Wild Mango, Sweet Nectar, Little Piggy, and Sweet Gelato. Then, using a black liner pen, I added my doodles.  I added a simple Hello sentiment stamped in Black dye ink.

I can't wait to do more of this!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
I've got a little baking to do.
