If we're connecting on Instagram or Facebook you already know that Ryan and I adopted a sweet girl named Piper! She's a 5 year old German Shepherd who was used as a breeding dog and then dumped at a high-kill shelter somewhere in the south. She was brought up north by Louies's Legacy and fostered for a few weeks while she recovered from her most recent litter.
She's a sweet, gentle girl who loves to play. She gets along well with other dogs which is great because we'd love to be able to bring her along when we visit friends and family with dogs and have them come visit us. She's only been with us a few days, but she seems to be adjusting well. We feel very lucky to have her!
Congratulations! What a beautiful dog! She reminds me of my childhood per, Tracy. German Shephards are such loyal pets!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Kara, she will worm her way into your heart lickity split. enjoy each and every moment.
ReplyDeleteOh Kara she's beautiful! God bless you guys for saving her. Rescued is the BEST breed :)

ReplyDeleteBless you for saving her and welcoming her into your heart and home!
ReplyDeleteFabulous news that you have this new dog. She looks a lot like my Sherlock, who was also a rescue. And, he is the best dog on earth and my big love, so I know that you have a good dog on your hands. You are invited over any time you'd like to have a doggie play date.
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful! So great you guys were able to save her and make her part of your family. ♥
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dog! She is lucky to have found a loving family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful face she has and bet her nature is just as lovely. Congratulations, sounds like you will be giving each other lots and lots of love!!
ReplyDeleteI have been SO behind getting to visit blogs. Congrats on your new sweetie! I am so happy for you & Ryan. And for her, as she has found a wonderful new home. May she bring you much joy for years to come!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Kara, Piper is awesome! So happy that you have a new fur baby to love!
ReplyDeleteKara, I somehow missed this post. I had wondered when looking at Piper's IG shots whether she had been a breeding dog. I will never understand people who breed and then dump - they're definitely not breeding for the love of dogs! Piper would have to be one of the prettiest German Shepherds that I have ever seen, she is so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! I hope all is going well now that you have had her several weeks and she has had an opportunity to adjust and to find out what an incredible family she has now joined! We have two rescues and I will never understand people that do these horrible things to animals. God Bless you for saving her and for letting her 'enjoy' the rest of her life..
