This month's 12 Kits Of Occasions hostess is Kim.
Word on the street is that Kim LOVES Halloween. That was pretty obvious when my kit arrived.
The box was all wrapped up and stamped with spiders!
Inside was full of die cuts, paper, and embellishments that were perfect for any kind of Halloween project you could dream up. So many of the pieces I had never worked with, which was fun!
This card is one of my favorites this month. The trick-or-treat die cut made such a great focal point on its own, but I wanted to add a little interest without losing the impact of that sentiment.
This one ended up being my favorite even though I discovered I hate working with sequins!
Maybe I didn't use the right adhesive for this particular application, but it gave me so much trouble.
In the end, I'm happy with it:)
This was the first card I made with the kit. Inspired by a Make It Monday where Dawn layers multiple die cut borders. For this card I layered the spider web border, a pinking shears border, and the leftover piece after die cutting the circle border seen on the next card.
I loved these little characters and wanted them to be the focus of the card.
I left a lot of 'black' space on this one ;)
And finally, another card using the Martha Stewart glow-in-the-dark glitter.
This cat is covered in it and he glows a bright green when you look at him in the dark.
I can't wait to send his off to one of my nephews.
Any one of them would love it!
Thanks so much for visiting today!

ReplyDeleteOh how I LOVE how you used that spooky scarecrow behind the die cut! The splatter is perfect, TOO! It's sooo good, just love that one! Your sequined moon is stunning. I just love how you have the whole scene set in the "background" of your card! I am thinking I need to order those sweet little SU Halloween minis...now I want more to make a card like yours!

and then spend 2 weeks sleeping in my room because of it! LOL!!
These are all so fabulous and fun. I know that sequinned moon was a pain, but it was so worth it. And, I especially love how you used those spider web borders.
ReplyDeleteI bet that glow in the dark glitter is so cute! Love what you have done Kara...my favorite is the Trick or Treat one with that dracula behind it and those black splatters...Love that one. A close second is the one with the Halloween Hill and the great chevron bow with all those sequins. So many cute ideas and I'm so glad I got to play along this month.
ReplyDeleteThese are all so fantastic, Kara! Love your sequin moon--such a fun idea. Another vote for your Trick or Treat design--LOVE it! Dracula and the bat behind the sentiment with the splatters look so awesome. Your glow in the dark cat is amazing too. I know several kids who would think that is the COOLEST ever!!
ReplyDeleteKara, these cards are fabulous! You did such a great job with this amazing kit.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you used the big Trick or Treat die - fun kit!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on having your wreath card chosen to be in the Papertrey newsletter today for the September Blog Hop Highlights!
ReplyDeleteKara, these are wonderful! The Trick or Treat, the bats flying everywhere, and I'm sure you're the best sequin user out there! Love every idea!
ReplyDeleteKara, your cards rock this month! I love the ink splatter and silhouette images paired with the large sentiment on your first card. Your sequin "moon" is so incredibly clever and fun, and the layered borders on the third card are really cute. I still have the images you used as circles with lots of black space--I think I will CASE this one! And what a fun glow-in-the-dark design for one of your nephews. I'll have to look into that glitter for some of our Halloween party favors!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun kit! I particularly like how you handled that big sentiment - just a couple of silhouettes and some splatter and it's just perfect!
ReplyDeleteKara the count behind the Trick or Treat is brilliant especially with the ink splatter! Eeek! I also love the look of the graveyard trimmed out and you should be happy because your sequin moon is spectacular! I think the glow in the dark cat is such a great idea, I might need to pick some of that up for some spooky cards! Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a ton of cards here! Love the spooky guy hanging out behind your sentiment on the first one, and the sparkly cat is awesome!! Happy belated WCMD, Kara!
ReplyDeleteOk, finally getting caught up on commenting...oh my goodness, your cards are so amazing! Your first card is my favorite of the bunch, that black splatter over the orange trick or treat and the bat and Dracula, wow! Love them all!
