For this first card I used the tissue paper to make the ruffle flower. I stamped a large area of tissue paper with the Versamark stamp pad itself. Then I embossed the entire area with clear embossing powder. When that cooled, I punched 6 scalloped circles from the embossed tissue paper. Each circle was embossed again with a mixture of clear embossing powder and pink glitter. I love the effect. It reminds me of a little girl's ballet tutu.
For my second card, I started by stamping polka dots onto a piece of pink cardtsock with Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed them with clear embossing powder as well. After that, I wrapped the piece of polka dot cardstock with a piece of tissue paper that had been heat embossed with butterflies from Butterfly Dreams. I only used adhesive on the back side of the piece of cardstock. There isn't any adhesive on the polka dot side of the cardtsock. I love how you can see the polka dots through the tissue and even better through the embossed butterflies.
My final project is my version of Batik. I stamped the tissue paper with polka dot basics and then clear heat embossed the dots. When they cooled, I colored the entire piece of tissue with the Melon Berry copic trio in the ombre style I have been playing around with lately. Because the copics color just about anything, the color does stick to the embossed areas. In order to reveal the polka dot pattern underneath, I placed a scrap piece of paper over the entire embossed area. Using my heat tool and bone folder, I heated up the embossing powder and rubbed over the scrap piece. This allows the reheated embossing powder to stick to the scrap paper and reveal the polka dots underneath.
I then adhered the tissue under some punched butterflies and backed them with white paper. It is a really fun technique!
Thanks for coming by tonight. I can't wait to see what you have created too!
