No Color Necessary
Monday, July 31, 2017
I love color, but sometimes black and white are all you need. Just like an evening outfit, it's simple, classy and beautiful. I love the look of a crisp black line stamp on white cardstock. This beautiful Mama Elephant Organic Blooms stamp is perfect. The Botanical Bunch stamp set from WP9 is another one I like to do this with.
I stamped the large image on white cardstock so that half of the panel stays white and the image goes off the edge. The panel underneath is stamped with a small stamp included in the set. This time I stamped it all over to create a patterned paper look. And because I love my layers, I added a black cardstock panel as well. I think it also bring the design together by adding more black.

Make Your Own Magic
Wednesday, July 26, 2017
Hey! Today I have a card to share that I made just because I wanted to watercolor some hydrangeas! This Mondo Hydrangea set by Essentials By Ellen was perfect because of it's large size. You can get a lot of color variation on one flower just like the real thing.
We have so many beautiful hydrangeas blooming in our yard now. I just love them!
I white heat embossed the flowers on watercolor paper. I added color with pinks, blue, and purple distress ink. Once they were dry, I die cut them with the coordinating die. They were a little warped, but I liked the dimension it gave to the card so I didn't try to force them to lie flat. I wanted to add black as an accent so I added black dots to the center of each flower, black ink to word die cut, and a black banner at the top. Honestly, I tried stamping the sentiment in black directly onto the white cardstock and I messed up! lol Had to hide it with the banner.

Summer Citrus
Monday, July 17, 2017
Hey guys! I love these new WP9 Citrus sets. When I received the new release products I went straight for these even thought the release included florals this month! I love those too, but these images just looked so cool and fun to play around with and they are!
The Citrus Background Builders make a background like the one above so quick and easy to make! All of the images in the Summer Citrus set work perfectly together with this background set. Because there are so many line images they're great for emboss resist techniques like this and this.
The new Basic Greetings dies are perfect for just about any card. The die set includes the words: friend, thanks, smile, and hello.
I originally shared these projects on the WPlus9 Design Blog. I go into a bit more detail on how I made these cards if you're interested in reading that, check it out here.
