I did a little water coloring on this one.

Where Did April Go? {FIF #114}

 

While talking with some of my friends from the 12 Kits,

we were all commenting on how April has just flown by!

I wanted to let you all know that I updated the Friday Inspiration File, but I hate a post without pictures.  I thought I'd share a little bit of my April with you as captured with  my phone.

Golden Nugget Antique and Flea Market 

 

Love the patterns on these old handbags.

 

My husband and I love to take day trips and

go to flea markets and antique shops looking for treasures.

We took a ride to

 New Hope, PA, Lambertville, NJ, and Frenchtown, NJ

for some shopping and some lunch.

We have also been doing a lot of work on the front landscaping.

We added a walkway from the driveway to the front door, a new boxwood hedge, and filled in some areas with sod.  We still have more to do, but it's getting there.

 

 

I've also spent a lot of time working in my new art journal.

Talk about fun! 

 It's hard for me to make a mess, but I'm getting better at. 

 

 

I was out sick from work one day and this is how Lady was looking at me.

Kind of like, "What's wrong with you?"

I've been thinking about adding some red to my hair......

 

This last photo represents a missed opportunity.  It was the perfect little chair for our bedroom.  A great place to sit and read.  I must have gone back to TJ Maxx 3 or 4 times to check on it and look at it again.  It was a great price, but still not cheap.  I waited too long. 

The last time I went back it was gone.  There will be other chairs..:)

I couldn't resist picking up some Color Shine sprays. 

 The colors are just so beautiful and shimmery.

When I saw Dawn's new mood board I knew I wanted to use my new sprays!

 

 

Monday Mood Board #10

 

To create the pattern on my panel and butterfly I sprayed the mint green, teal, and gold spray onto some bubble wrap and then pressed the bubble wrap onto my cardstock.

I let it sit for just a minute and then blotted it off with some paper towels.

 

 

I hope you can see the shimmer.  So pretty!

Sweet Hearts

 

Good Morning

 

 

Did you have a good weekend?

I had some time to play in my art journal and also make a few cards.

One of my art journal pages has 60 punched hearts on it, so I kind of had hearts on the brain.

 

 

A few of the hearts are stamped first in a solid ink color.  Then they are stamped over top with a scrolly heart in versamark ink and finally heat embossed in gold. 

 My paper was a bit wavy after the heat embossing

so I wanted to emboss it with a folder to flatten it out and add some texture. 

 I wasn't sure how the gold embossing would react to the process. 

 I thought it might crack, but it worked just fine.
