Handmade Cards Just For You

Monday, February 28, 2011

I made this set for my mother-in-law.  She loves this embossed image and wanted the cards super simple and easy to mail.  Doesn't get much simpler than this, but they are prefect for her. She just wants to have some note cards on hand for a quick note or 'thank you'.  There are 10 cards in all (colors listed below) with white (I would have preferred cream, but I don't have any) envelopes with an embossed flap.

Friday, February 25, 2011

This month's Blog Hop is all about scallops!  I created my flower using Melon Berry felt and the banner builder scallop die!  I pinched each scallop together st the ends and secured them with hot glue.  Then I hot glued the three 'petals' together!

I added a little scallop border too!

Enjoy the hop

Friday Inspiration File #4

Friday, February 25, 2011

Hi!  I hope you all have had a great week!
Thanks to everyone who has come by and left me such nice comments!  It means a lot!  Here are just some of the wonderful projects I have come across this week.
Check them out!

Beautiful card sets by Debby.  I love the cases she made for them, even decorating the spines.  So pretty!  She also made this beauty.  Love the design and the fun colors!

A sweet "I love you" by Michelle in the most elegant colors.  I love blue and brown!

LOVE this bejeweled card that Ashley made!

Kelly really pushed me over the edge on this stamp set.  I've wanted it for a long time, but after seeing her card I bought it!

One of the coolest scrapbook pages ever.  Kelly Purkey highlights all of her NYC faves.  So cool!

These little sketch books that Kristina made are awesome!  I'm not one for sketching before I design a card, but a cute little book like this might make me start:)

This little "Hello Friend" card that Laurie made just shines with genuine feeling.  Love it!

Ann made the sweetest little felt friends!

Heather has created the most beautiful Easter card with some of PTI's new sets, Spring Jar Fillers and Newsprint background.

Love these colors that Becky used.  I'm hooked on orange lately!

See you later for the Blog Hop!

I was inspired by Laurie to use white embossing powder with the flowers from Spiral Bouquet.
 Her card is gorgeous!
I loved how it looked and couldn't wait to try it myself.

This card also incorporates strips of glitter for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge.

This week's challenge from Papertrey Ink is to use strips of ScorTape and glitter on a project.

Just A Little Something

Saturday, February 19, 2011

In between loads of laundry and cleaning the house I made just a little something.  I've had this clothesline Cosmo Cricket paper forever.  It's about time I used it, don't ya think?

There's just something about orange lately that I can't seem to get enough, especially paired with blue!

Cardstock: PTI Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise

Ink: StazOn Brown, PTI Tea Dye Duo

Faux Marble

Friday, February 18, 2011

I did not set out to create this marbleized look, but as I progressed it started to emerge and I went with it.  I added color veining with a paint brush rolled onto my ink pads and then twisted and dragged the paint brush across my image.  I really love the effect.  Once I was happy with it, I coated it in two layers of clear embossing powder and that really brought out the depth and colors.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful weekend!!

Friday Inspiration File #3

Friday, February 18, 2011

Another week filled with beautiful creations.  I'm so happy to have them all in one place to come back to for inspiration!!  Check out the links, you may have missed some!

Love Kelly's card! The colors are so cheerful and the way she added color to the background is awesome.

Becky's card is another bright and cheerful card that made me smile this week.  A simple background with a lot of impact!

The sweetest little bird card in pink and orange...think sherbet :) by Debbie.

Julie's sweet little Valentine's with a secret inside.

I know you've all seen this beauty, but I wanted to make sure I didn't loose track of it!  Debbie Olson has done it again!

Love how Amy made adorable cards using the notebook die.  Now I must have it:)

Another one from Debbie Olson with colors so beautiful I get a good feeling all over just looking at them!

I can't wait to try this felt flower technique from Melissa Bickford.  Another gorgeous color scheme.

Just too cute, Regina!  Love the trail of hearts!

Arielle has done the most awesome coloring of metal cans...wow!

ENJOY!

Happy! Happy! Happy!

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

I have created this card for Paper Piecing Challenge in the Moxie Fab WorldThey are hosting many challenges based on the Stamp It! Techniques recent issue.  Day 3 focuses on paper piecing.  I wanted to pull out a stamp set that I hadn't used in quite awhile, Scattered Showers was it!

I also added my sentiment on a strip of vellum for this week's MIM challenge.  It's difficult to see in the photos because I used a very pale pink to stamp 'Happy' randomly across the strip.  I adhered the strip with vellum tape.  This tape is awesome and undetectable no matter where under the vellum you choose to put it.

Hope you're having a good week!

Cardstock: PTI Spring Moss, Lemon Tart, Ripe Avocado, Sweet Blush
Paper: Making Memories
Stamps: PTI Scattered Showers
Ink: Memento Black and Pink

Botanical Print

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

My second submission for PTI's Make It Monday was heavily inspired by Betsy Veldman.  She had a card published in Stamp It! Techniques magazine that I just loved and wanted to recreate.  I created mine a bit more simply, with only one layer and very minimal embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by!
